  1. This is what I do when I bank fish and want to carry stuff in a backpack
  2. What's a big worm to you? I'll fish a 10" culprit ribbon tail or something along those lines, but I'm not gonna be throwing a big 12" Manna jelly worm or something...
  3. I don't fish chatterbaits yet but I find it hard to believe one would always out fish the other, Swim jigs have been dominating for me lately.
  4. I just take this box full, anything I can't fit in here I don't take...
  5. Nice fish! Yeah I wanna get more into chatterbaits as well...
  6. What specific rod it it your using, just curious...
  7. Pics or it didn't happen, of the grouper
  8. If you throw the 2.5 the most you might wanna get the MH, I throw my 2.5 sized squarebills on a MH/F action and do fine, I throw my 1.5 sized ones on a M/F, But you could throw a 1.5 on a MH or a 2.5 on a M though... So it comes down to what size cranks your using the most... What action are these rods? I prefer a fast action for squarebills but some people prefer a moderate action... Welcome to the forums BTW!
  9. I was very close to buying a couple today with the sales on TW but didn't know if my rod could handle them... I was gonna try fishing them on a MH/F with 50lb braid that's rated for 1/4oz - 3/4oz baits. I know the 8.0 is 3/4oz so it'd be at the top weight range for my rod. I think it would be okay for fishing them but wasn't 100% confident... What are y'all throwing it on?
  10. Only time I lose lipless baits is if something toothy cuts it off or it's thrown in the trees... Very seldom do I get snagged to the point I can't retrieve it because I fish a shallow lake that's 8ft in the deeper places so it's easy to get my baits back, if your bank fishing I could understand losing some fishing around rock or timber but you shouldn't lose any fishing grass, like said above if you did then it's something to do with your knot, line, or maybe a toothy critter bit it off and you didn't realize...
  11. I mean if your lure is getting fouled up with weeds literally every cast then you may need to change something up but don't be afraid to throw lipless in the really thick junk!
  12. Both of these fish were caught on lipless, look at the grass in these picture. You can fish them in some seriously thick stuff if you can put up with cleaning junk off them
  13. Lol you should see the pictures I post of the places I fish lipless cranks... I have to pull slop off my crank all the time but that's the name of the game, sometimes you gotta fish lipless cranks in the thick weeds to catch anything! You could try fishing it faster and keeping it closer to the top or switch to a lighter bait though, but lipless cranks aren't weedless so don't expect them to magically come through grass every cast, while they are great at ripping out of grass they will need cleaned off every now and again...
  14. Same here, I also fish tons of grass and EWG don't come through nearly as good as normal worm hooks or straight shanks.
  15. gets your bait deeper, but that won't matter much because you said your bank fishing, what will matter is casting distance and I can cast 20lb farther than 50lb.
  16. You most definitely can need a bullet weight in most cases! Try fishing a weightless trick worm for bass holding on cover 20ft deep!
  17. I like how some of you are saying I use a X/0 for so and so inch bait.... It really only matters how thick the bait is.
  18. Nice little video, Pretty place your fishing at!
  19. That fish gets bigger and cooler everytime I see that picture, great fish 00Mod!
  20. There are tons and tons of good reels that could be bought with 200$ or less, I'd recommend the tatula its great for frogging and I like that its alittle bulky, gives you alot to grab onto when reeling those bass outta the slop! also it can be had for alot less than 200$!
  21. Yup. I was fishing them on a MH/F with 50lb braid and they didn't bend at all, good hooks.
  22. I was so close to ordering a couple 8.0's today but didn't know if my rod would be any good for them... It probably would throw them fine but wouldn't be ideal so I decided to hold off. MH/F 1/4oz - 3/4oz rod
  23. Same here if we are talking worms like the Zoom Trick Worm or Culprit ribbon tail.
  24. Where I fish I don't feel the need for super realism, rage craws and speedcraws work great for me.
  25. Been using the one's that are the size of a KVD 2.5 and they are great, Good stock hooks on them too.
