  1. Thinking about buying a cheap rod and reel to start getting into swimbaits, Like maybe a Abu Vengeance or a Academy ethos rod and a Daiwa Millionaire-S reel, Do y'all think a swimbait setup around 100-120$ would be worth getting or just waiting till I can get something more specialized.... Any other other rods or reels in the 60$ range that y'all would recommend?
  2. Just started this topic not long ago asking what people threw their 8.0's on. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/147602-what-are-yall-throwing-the-new-ish-kvd-80-on/
  3. I'd say MH/F too, maybe a medium if you throw mostly lighter stuff.... For the stuff you listed though I would think a MH would be great.
  4. Dem steelers doe! No? Just me? Okay...
  5. The search function is poop lol, just use google and type "bassresource" after what you want. For example "A-Rig Bassresource"

  7. I love the FLW tournaments shows too! There is a ton of FLW tournaments on their YouTube channel, pretty intresting to watch.
  8. Did you catch that!?!?! That's freaking huge
  9. Vibram five fingers are fantastic shoes, they have some made for water activity's you could look into. I love mine.
  10. Of course, just like you can fish to fast. The bass aren't always gonna want a crankbait retreiveied slow and that goes for other lures too, even jigs.
  11. All my bags of plastics in the top and side compartments of my box, one tray with terminal tackle and a handfull of spinnerbaits, one tray with jigs and top waters, and one box with hardbaits. That's how I organize my bass stuff.
  12. Nice fish! Congrats on the PB
  13. I don't backlash often ethier, but I'm not gonna act like I don't have a bad one occasionally. Especially with all the moss and cypress trees around here, its like they just reach out and grab your bait man!
  14. Honestly im gonna disagree and say braid is just flat out more manageable, fluoro and mono just get ruined after a few good backlashs which are inevitable even for pros and not to mention the fact those lines need extra care like line conditioner, Braid also last longer and is a lot more user friendly when it comes to tieing knots because you don't have to be perfect. There are many situations when braid can improve your fishing, if you are fishing vertical and deep braid is very sensitive on a tight line and makes hooksets a breeze, the ridiculous strength is just a plus. I mean don't get me wrong other lines have many advantages over braid but it really comes down to what the individual is using and what he prefers.
  15. Nice! Sounds like a great day
  16. Yes, but this thread is geared towards braid so I figured that was what you were talking about. Sure you could use 6-15lb mono, copoly, or fluoro but you will have to give up the manageability and sensitivity of braid. strength isn't always the reason people switch to braid.
  17. Because 10lb braid is the same diameter as 2lb mono and it will just be a PITA on casting gear. 30lb braid is as low as I go for casting unless I'm cranking, then I can go to 20lb.
  18. Man these are some good jigs, I have been tearing bass up on them lately.... Went out today and caught a bunch of good bass and jackfish on them! Will definitely be buying more jigs from seibert when I get the chance.
  19. M/F casting rod with 30lb braid, a MH/F casting rod with 50lb braid. I feel these two setups can cover a wide array of lures and you can always put a leader on in certain situations.
  20. Niceeee
  21. Yeah that black rod is a shimano zeles
