  1. I don't see why you couldn't use 12lb line on the reel if the manufacturer reccomends that size line on their reel.
  2. Yeah I'm about to head to the store and I'll grab a spool of 10lb-15lb braid, I'll try FC again eventually but don't feel like fiddling with it at the moment. I know Aaron martens dropshots on straight FC so I figured I'd give it a shot before I went to braid but so far I don't like it very much...
  3. I put KVD L&L on it while it was still on the original spool and let it soak for a few hours then spooled it on my reel and took the reels spool and put it in warm water for around 5 minutes then when I took it back out sprayed more KVD L&L on while it was still on the reel then this morning before I went out fishing I put L&L on all my reels that didn't have braid. Idk what the problem is, I even trolled my line out and made sure it had no line twist, this somewhat helped but it still coiled and started twisting like crazy after alittle more fishing, I was using a drop shot with a VMC spin shot hook and I don't believe that would cause massive line twist.
  4. Its a 6930X pflueger president, I know many people use sniper and love the line.
  5. I spooled on some 8lb sunline sniper on my new spinning reel Christmas morning and I made sure I put it on the correct way and everything, even put KVD L&L on it and soaked the spool in warm water like some people suggest and still the line twist like crazy and wants to jump off the spool.... Gonna go to academy and get some 10lb braid and use the rest of this sunline as leader I guess because I just don't know what went wrong with this FC.
  6. If you do use braid you better not backlash or you might send your expensive swimbait flying into the next timezone...
  7. You are very very wrong, a scale that reads to the grams would be more precise than a scale that reads in the ounces not necessarily more accurate. Look up the definition of precise and accurate and reevaluate what you just said.
  8. My parents got me a tournament choice digital scale from academy, it was only 15$ so I figured it would be off a little but I took a 3lb weight and the scale said exactly 3lbs, so its a darn good scale for 15$!
  9. Got a pflueger president and a st.Croix rod for dropshotting, rigged it up and caught my first bass on it not to long ago today! I can tell I'm gonna really enjoy this rod and reel....
  10. Nice fish! Man those lumps on their head look so.... Weird.... Merry Christmas!
  11. Got a bunch of good stuff! The highlights are, Pflueger President and ML St.Criox A nice fillet knife Good digital fishing scale Can't wait to do some dropshotting on my new setup!!!
  12. Try some of academy's flat sided square bill crankbaits! They are great!
  13. Got back a crankbait I lost in a pond by snagging it in the split ring and I lost a jig once in a brush pile and caught the line attached to it and got it back with the next cast lol
  14. I like the megastrike skakE2 as well, I love using trick worms with them.
  15. I'm just trying to get you to realize that not all mediums and medium-heavys are the same, Your telling him not to buy any medium power rods. I have a medium power rod rated up to 3/4oz but what I can't use it for jigs because it doesn't have enough backbone? Of course medium heavys would be good and probably even a better choice in a lot of cases but don't tell some guy that you shouldn't fish jigs on a medium power rod because that is just bad advice. I'd get something rated for around 1/4oz to 1oz and could care less if they slapped the words medium or medium heavy on the side.
  16. Okay, good luck fishing a 1/8oz jig on a true MH, the OP said he is gonna be using jigs and Texas rigs in the 1/8-3/8oz range. You not gonna be fishing 1/8Oz jigs with a gigantic flipping hook on them so backbone won't be a problem, buy the rod that will throw the weights you need/want to throw and in the OP's case that very well may be a M powered rod.
  17. Don't tell him that... Not all M power rods are the same and there are plenty of jigs in the 1/8oz - 3/8oz range I'd throw on a M/F and never look back.
  18. Yeah I decided I'd rather just save up and buy a better combo that will last me forever than buy something that will be less than ideal... I can wait.
  19. I went out this morning but was only able to catch one keeper before it started pouring rain, it seems like good line but its a little on the stretchy side which is a killer for me....
  20. I would get it mounted! Lol
  21. Does two packs of zoom trick worms count as 40 lures??
  22. Oh and BTW, I haven't used many co-polys but it does seem like 20lb C21 is a little thinner than other 20lb lines...
  23. Yeah, It seems like C-21 is a good middle ground between CX and CXX.
