  1. You can cast heavier ones farther but can't fish them as slow.
  2. This thread explains it well. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/122219-what-does-a-flipping-switch-do/
  3. Thanks guys, so nobody really bothers with them this early in spring?
  4. I got on the lake at about eight and for some reason my trolling motor stopped working at around eleven so I called it quits early and headed back to the ramp, when I got back I saw a man I know named John putting his high dollar bass boat in. This man has won Idk how many tournaments at this lake and fishes lakes all over the place, I tell him about my situation and then he offered to let me fish with him for the day. I've always wanted to fish with him I just never asked, we fished all day and he caught 3 small bass and I caught nothing but I still had a blast riding in his bass boat that has a 200HP engine! People can be so nice, he even got my number and said the next time he enters a tournament around here he'll give me a call. I learned two big things from fishing with him today. 1. Big motors make boats go very fast 2. Flipping all day really puts a hurting on those not used to it!
  5. You only gave it 30 minutes, give it time most likely someone will answer your question sooner or later. Yes, 17lb fluorocarbon can be used with jigs just fine.
  6. What time of the year do you have the most success with spooks like the Original Zara Spook?
  7. Yup they work, I like the colors junebug, white, and baby bass!
  8. At least doing it Bluebassers way would minimize the risk of the bass actually taking the plastic off and swallowing it whole. Never really thought bass swallowing soft plastic lures was a big deal but posts on bass resource have changed my mind...
  9. I was fishing a bomber square A through cypress trees when I thought I got clogged up on a big clump of grass, I popped it a few times to try and free it with no success then I reeled it in and there was a big ole' bass on the line! Before I could react she was gone, probably would have been my PB at the time too...
  10. Small diameter braid might suit you well, it's strong enough for your crankbaits but is still small enough for the finesse stuff, and you can always throw on a fluoro leader.
  11. What are you wanting to use the rod and reel for?
  12. If your tray doesn't work out you could try Tupperware, I just lay all mine in a Tupperware container that has a towel inside it...
  13. It's more about finding them then what lure your using, they will bite most bass lures but some days they can be pretty finicky too.... One of my favorite things to catch them on is a Marabou jig!
  14. I used to not care for them but now I use them a lot...
  15. It seems like the bass here in south georiga are already spawning, at least in one of the lakes I fish... How about the rest of y'all, have y'all noticed any signs of the spawn yet? What stage do you think the majority of bass are in right now, the prespawn or actually spawning??
  16. Not to familiar with spots but if it was 22.5 inches I'd assume it would be around 5lbs! Nice fish!
  17. I don't have the luxury of taking 47 boxes of hard baits with me (like some of y'all do haha) on my fishing trips so I put all the lures and tackle I use the most in three boxes... Haha pretty much crammed as much as I could fit
  18. Went to the lake and I tried and tried and tried and tried to get a bass on top water but I just couldn't.... I knew the fish were shallow and getting ready to spawn, I could see plenty of schools of 1-2 lb bass moving up and down the shoreline. So I went and grabbed my ML and some marabou jigs and caught about 10 or so small bass sight fishing but man was it fun! I had to fish it SLOW though, I was basically deadsticking it, I probably had just as many take and spit the bait out as I caught...
  19. "The jaw will Almost always break"??? I don't know if I believe that... You probably shouldn't hold 10lb+ behemoths but how can that hurt a two, three, four or so pounder?
  20. Rainbow trout is definitely up there....
  21. The lake I fish is packed full of thick grass, cypress trees and moss, pads, all kinds of stuff and I have been very surprised how its not to hard to get bass to the boat with a ML spinning rod if you use your head and don't get stupid... But there are places you just flat out can't use a ML reliably.
  22. A chartreuse/black back squarebill can be killer in places like that, especially this time of year!
  23. I like most of the H2O lures, I really love their squarebills!
  24. Wow that's impressive! I like bowling even though I'm terrible.... Haha
  25. I get aches and pains all the time for no apparent reason, Probably not ccomparable to arthritis though. I'm assuming its just from cross country and wrestling over the years...
