  1. My trolling motor skills are so bad I usually just find a spot anchor and fish, when Ive fished that area I'll go to the next... I stand up when I fish and its hard to control the trolling motor and stand in the Jon boat, at least for me... On the bigger boat I fish from occasionally its much easier...
  2. http://www.***.com/Eagle_Claw_Bobber_Rubber_Stops/descpage-ECBOBRB.html Nuff' said
  3. When my uncle gave me all his old rods and reels I didn't want to fish them, really I was worried I might end up breaking them. The only the only reel I wanted to fish was the bantam 100, I wanted the experience of catching fish with that gem. It caught me a lot of fish and now it too is put away...
  4. Its all preference but I use higher gear ratios like 7-8 for stuff like Texas rigs. Calming yourself down is a mental game, that being said you don't wanna give to fish awhole lot of time, you wanna set that hook as soon as you can reel up the slack, don't just jerk as soon as you feel it and have really sloppy hook sets though. Remember, the first tick is the fish biting your lure and the second tick is them spitting it out, and you don't always feel the first tick
  5. Way to break the curse snook! Good job
  6. No it doesn't float, love it for punching though but as already mentioned they are on the less durable side...
  7. Thought you said that'd be your last Outting with a megasbass vision? Lol
  8. My water is usually 6-10ft so I have crankbaits that cover those depths and a little deeper.
  9. I use them as swim jig, spinnerbait, and buzzbait trailers also! Great little bait, holds up pretty good too and isn't expensive.
  10. Great song... Love potion number 9, The Searchers:
  11. Dark/Light green.
  12. Chartreuse black back, I've caught fish in everything from clear to muddy on this color.
  13. Hey matt, what time of year would you say you have the best chance at catching big bass, the Pre-spawn/Spawn maybe?
  14. Thanks guys I'll look into these!
  15. I would kill for a black and yellow camaro or mustang....
  16. http://www.gameandfishmag.com/fishing/fishing_bass-fishing_ga_0509_01/ Here is a good article on banks lake and describes the lake well. Click the link and scroll down until you see the section on banks lake
  17. When the lake is at full pool there are spots around the boat Ramp and out a little ways from the ramp that hit 15ft The water is low right now and it is 12ft in the deepest parts, I have caught fish off these spots but they were always near the top in grass or something, I usually catch them around there in the winter it seems like... If there are any other deep holes then I don't know about them.
  18. Trust me I don't have the location part down... I don't have any part of bass fishing "down"
  19. I have a question, Is there even a noticeable thermocline in shallow water like 8ft?
  20. I am doing something wrong, you got that right. I was just trying to say I already fish the deepest parts of the lake that hold fish, I cant go any deeper without digging a hole. But thanks SPEEDBEAD I needed someone to knock me down a peg or two lol
  21. Stop trying to look at it like a contest and try to work together... you'll both catch more fish.
  22. It's really not relative, 6ft just flat out Isn't deep water no matter how you look at it.
