  1. Do not go to Florida expecting to catch a 5lb bass every cast, you will be disappointed. If I picked a month it would be spring, nothing beats fishing the prespawn/spawn in the shallow southern lakes. Get whichever license is cheaper Line is going to vary technique to technique but to answer your question 8 & 10lb lines are more than capable of landing bass well over their # test with a correctly set drag.
  2. The only braid I've really not liked was spiderwire... That stuff is horrible.
  3. Oh and BTW add a split ring to the stock hook mount then attach your hook to the split ring, It helps a lot IMO
  4. Yeah, the jitterbug 600 is 2 1/2 inches and 3/8 oz. and the jitterbug 650 is 3 inches and 5/8 oz.
  5. Don't they have setups where you can hook your rod to the kayak so it doesn't accidentally get lost? and there are floating tackle bags you can use..
  6. For the jitterbug, #6 for 3/8 oz. and #4 for 5/8 oz.
  7. I like power pro super 8 slick. The smooth braids allow you to pull wind knots out very easily and they aren't as noisy when casting. Whether or not that's worth a few extra bucks is up to you, I don't have any problem with knot strength with super slick.
  8. If money wasn't a problem I'd fish the senko, but it is a problem so I fish the yum dingers a lot and like them. I do buy a few packs of senkos every now and again if they are on sale
  9. Honestly the KVD 1.5 and H2O CRS are Almost identical except the CRS is a lot cheaper. The KVD kinda goes off on a tangent sometimes which I like, the CRS does too but not as often. When using square bills sometimes you need to be very accurate and the KVD going all over the place can mess that up.
  10. Shorter the rod generally the more accuracy, longer the rod generally the more casting distance. Get what your comfortable with.
  11. Yes, one rod can probably get away with what's listed except the crankbaits.
  12. I thought the Powell max crankbait rods only came in Heavy and medium? Not medium heavy
  13. So is the only difference between the rods the length?? My preference would be a 7'1 for what is listed but get what you want. Like mentioned above you may get a little more distance with the 7'1
  14. Nice! I wanna catch a striper
  15. I noticed the big spider too... Glad your liking your new rod!
  16. Beautiful woman, sad to hear she passed away.
  17. Wow great deal, don't have a cabelas around here but academy is great!
  18. Awhile after I posted this I figured out I didn't catch a smallmouth on that trip, what I thought was a smallie was just another Suwannee bass.
  19. What ever time I can. Around this time of year in south Georiga I like to be on the water by at least 7:00am and fish untill 12:00 unless I'm doing good...
  20. A soft plastic rigged Texas style is more weedless than a wire weed guard to me... EDIT: my mistake just noticed you were wacky rigging.
  21. I've forgot soap/water on fishing trips and had to eat without washing my hands after handling bass so I will do it but I prefer to wash my hands...
  22. Lipless cranks!
  23. I like to run lipless cranks over grass anytime of year!
