  1. As @BigBassLoveSenkos said google maps is great you just grab a 12 pack and just start looking and marking ponds. Then one day travel to those ponds and scout them out and if your lucky you may see a farmer or someone who may know who to contact about fishing and just ask. You'll find places you never knew were there. I am in South Hanover and feel the pain but haven't had a chance yet to take my advice past checking google maps..lol but worked in Baltimore so i am sure it will work in this area
  2. why not x4 lol think its a gimmick?
  3. Is anyone looking forward to the release? Has anyone been lucky enough to try one? Do you even want one? Think they will be worth the money?
  4. Hi all I am wondering if anyone has gone to this show. It looks like it is hunting heavy. But does have some fishing as well it seems. Also saw some seminars as well. So my questions are: 1. Have you been there and can you find good deals? 2. They have an auction put on by Pennsylvainia Outdoor writers association...what do they sell and are there good guys the too?
  5. I just installed dragonfly 4 DVS and I have taken it out once. I love it. Its basic simple but effective. I can see it well in the Sun clouds whatever. However I have not had a a lowrance or Humminbird either. But I like it because it has a nicer screen and seems to be more clear.
  6. http://imgur.com/a/glLSv First off thanks to all the feedback from everyone about my fishfinder. Above is the link where I have a few pics. I have an unique set up because my kayak is a hybrid an Old Town Angeler DLX so I started with the mount for the unit in the cup holder. I used 1/8" drill bit where the bolts would go but the first hurdle was I could get my drill in the back hole. This was because the locking mechanism on drill was hitting the mount and not allowing the bit to go all the way so I just marked the other two holes with the center of my finger and rotated the mount around so the back hole lined up and made a mark. Then I used 3/8" toggle bolts to hold it tight. The battery box is a $2 Ziploc box with 5/8" rubber stopper with 3 1/8" holes drilled and the wires running through the stopper. Then the wires just hook right up to the 12v 7.2aph battery the ducer is next. I am going with the duct seal well strategy.

  7. Okay that makes to vetilate it. Thanks for that. I am looking to add an inline fuse I just wasn't sure if there we're any other options. Now what about the wire from the battery to the unit's cord or should I just run the units cord through the box
  8. I am using a Ziploc box and I want to run a bead of chalk around the edge of the lid the help water proof it so I would not open this back up. So I would have the battery have some type extensions coming off the terminals and run them through the side of the box through something like rubber stopper. But I need to know what I can use to hook it up from the battery to the units wire but I also want to have it fused as well to protect the unit.
  9. So I have my battery and my box but have to hook it up. So what I have is the normal T2 terminals on the battery and raw wires coming from the cord from the finder. I want to have a fuse to protect the unit and I would like to seal up the battery permanetly....any suggestions are appreciated
  10. Yes you can shoot thru the hull with the stock transducer from raymarine dragonfly4 DVS
  11. I got my dragonfly!! Thanks for everyone's advice and support I am very excited. This is my first fish finder because I have always been old school and not use electronics much so this is huge for me.
  12. Tha is for the tips I'll try this before ordering a couple suction cups that look like they might work. This video is just a perimeter around the transducer where other ones will have the transducer actually pressed into putty and those posts worry about air bubbles. So it seems the perimeter method is the way to try first then work my way up. Any other thoughts on that
  13. So duct seal or plumbers putty? Or are they the same?
  14. Tub bath? What you mean tub bath?
