  1. Fish sees a blur of colors when they see a crankbait being cranked near them. Randy caught a limit using DT-6, but switched to the Livingston to cull the fish. If the sound system doesn't matter, then he would have caught the same fish with DT-6 no? Quality of movement between the Rappala and Livingston may be different but you don't have enough of a case to say that the sound doesn't matter.
  2. It's probably to compensate for the height.
  3. I like it a lot. FX68L is pretty wide reel, but sits and palms really well in my hand.
  4. KVD bullworms are pretty nice.
  5. Yes it was always supported, but the better alignment, and the ease of rotation with the help of bearings will increase the amount of torque applied in the "vector" you want, increasing the torque from previous models, because less force is wasted in the rotation.
  6. I don't see how you don't get more power, when you are comparing a double bearing supported pinion gear, to unsupported one. Wouldn't the bearings give extra support, and ease the rotation of the pinion gear, increasing the torque?
  7. They are meant for presentations where the lures are clearly visible to the fish, like weightless wacky or drop shot. Using it as jigrig will be a waste imo.
  8. It's a chronarch D with x-ship and DC braking system. chronarch d gears aren't compatible because of x ship.
  9. Do you guys pay for the watershed access? and is it worth it?
  10. The 200 shallow spool is for pitching and flipping. Shallower and nice upgrade over the stock spool, but its not a BFS spool. I would just get a 50e. You will have so much better time matching a rod to it, and I am sure you will enjoy it.

    Swimbaits

You really need to give us some size. There are plenty of 1/4 oz to 1/2 oz soft swimbaits, as well as 4-10 oz soft swimbaits.
  12. You should try the FG knot with the method I posted above. It makes for very very strong and clean knot that can easily flow through guides. I don't like how people tie it by making a knot, then cutting off the leader in the middle.
  13. I been using the FG knot for most of 2015, and the only time I had it unravel on me is when I didn't do this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJkXuh6FyLI Burn the end of the leader, to form a little mushroom head and wrap the braided line tightly under it and over it, and you are good to go. I have caught 35 inch pike, and 30 inch bluefishes using this method, and never had it unravel on me.
  14. Its not about where Lew's started. Its about BPS having same OEM as Lews, Abu, Pflueger with Doyo.
  15. Maybe its because you used it more? Nice evenly distributed grease from the gears meshing could cause this.
  16. Those are Citica Gs and the current ones are Citica Is. I would honestly pick up whichever ones you can find cheaper, unless you plan to do a lot of inshore/brackish water.
  17. The thing about the Px type r is that the spool weighs good 13 grams without the bearing while Aldebaran BFS is in the 9 gram range. You really need to cut the fat when you are casting finesse lures.
  18. PX Type R is definitely not the undisputed king of finesse reels... Edit* I misread. You need to get a shallow spool for the Core, then you can try out a reel finesse reel d: . There are also really nice spools for Pixy, but they are harder to come by.
  19. Wife's page eh?
  20. Metanium is 100 size, Ci4 is 150 size, Curado is 200 size.
  21. Oh no, looks like my Megabass rods doesn't say made in Japan on them. Maybe I should just throw them all away... All these country argument is just silly. Lews, Pflueger, Abu Garcia all get their higher end low profile reel from Doyo in Korea, which is very good OEM. I just would never buy any Pflueger, or Lews because I like the JDM Abu styling quite a bit better
  22. Senkos are built for catching fish, not durability. The softness of the worm gives an enticing action as it falls. The large amount of salt impregnated in the plastic releases a lot of taste into a fish's mouth and commits them into biting. The brittle nature of the worm allows for much better hook up than other worms. None of these features allows for longevity .
  23. If you guys like Sunline FC Sniper, it is definitely worth trying Shooter FC Sniper (their new formula). I think it is significant upgrade over the previous versions in terms of limpness/smoothness and overall manageability. I have been fishing 12 pound and 8 pound line for the past month, and decided to switch all my fluorocarbon to it next year(I have tried Sniper/Shooter, Seaguar Invizx, Toray Super Hard Strong). I have been using the 8 pound line for my BFS set up and have been fishing small jigs on rocks, and the line has been handling abrasion very very well for me. Only disadvantage I see is that it is a bit thicker than your standard ratings.
  24. If you want to try something similar, without paying huge premium for the limited edition shudder tails, look into Fish Arrow HuddleJack. Very similar action.
