  1. It separates at the handle like most of the JDM 2 pieces.
  2. If you don't want noisy bearings, you can get microball bearings from Japan like the ones from Hedgehog Studio etc.
  3. Yeah I can see their result, but the two other independent sites that I look at to get some references on shows the line being pretty consistent with strength to width ratio of all of the other lines. Doesn't change the fact its great co-poly. http://www.gamefishin.com/wa/features/linetest.php http://www.sportfishingmag.com/techniques/initial-dry-break-strength
  4. I can guarantee you that it does not have breaking strength of 19 lbs, it has thickness of a 16.5-17 lb breaking strength line. It handles really well, but no fishing line can perform miracles.
  5. Amount of ignorance is unreal in this comment.
  6. I wouldn't even use that thick of a line for >2 Oz swimbaits. I have been throwing Deps SS 175 and 3:16 Baby Wake on 17 pound CXX, and it does fine job at controlling those baits.
  7. You are definitely not going to get comfortable amount of line on that Citica if you want to use Yozuri Hybrid. For something under 2 oz, I would use a mono or copolymer that has standardized rated weight of 20 pounds (roughly .370mm width) and you will be able to get 100 meters of that line on your 200 sized Shimano. I don't think you will like that reel very much though. I was using my Chronarch E with 50 pound power pro and 17 pound CXX leader, and I felt very stressed launching it since the reel couldn't take the heavy pressure from the big baits. I advise you to go with a larger low profile or a round reel after you sell your Citica.
  8. Some companies uses "standardized" method of measuring strength, while others do not. They all will have generally the same strength based on the diameter of the line. I personally enjoy fishing with .01 inches or .009 inches diameter nylon or fluorocarbon, since it makes the lure dive a bit deeper and the fight is more enjoyable for me.
  9. If you are spending 300 dollars and don't mind an import, then excense dc is as nice as it is going to get at that price range(well actually any price range).
  10. Good ol Alphas vs Chronarch argument xD . I think 50E will feel a lot nicer because of the smaller size, so I would go with that if line capacity isn't a issue.
  11. Is there any change in action from the old 175 to the new?
  12. Anything with circuit board lip will be pretty durable.
  13. The blog is written with a bit of immaturity to entertain the readers (generally younger guys who are in bass fishing) . I really wish they released this earlier in the summer so people can take advantages of it in more seasons.
  14. http://bit.ly/1sRfZ4M Here you go friend .
  15. Yup, the smoothness, comfort, and casting on this reel is truly sublime. I bought a 200 recently, and will buy a 300 once it comes out later this year.
  16. I use both and I switch them based on what I need out of the set up (I am as far as you can get from being ambidextrous). I like my to crank and cast with the right handed ones, but I like left handed ones for when I have to work the rod.
  17. Shimano doesn't offer some left handed stuff on popular model like the Curado I.
  18. If you are running 65 pound braid, then you don't need Ambassadeur with that high of capacity. Lexa is a nicer alternative than the Ambassadeur if we are talking purely about build quality imo, but either reels are fine. The reason guys get huge round reels for swimbaits that size is because they like how it can hold tons of super thick line like the 25 pound + CXX, Big Game, or Izorline. The shortest rod I would use for that application is at least 7 and a half footer, but you can probably make due with 7 foot+.
  19. Yup, Antares is a beast of a reel. I know he also said how DC LV can get further distance than Antares; its definitely been in production for a long time for a reason ^^. I wonder how much I can cast with my Conquest if I spool it up with some 30 pound braid, unfortunately I cant bear the thought of the line staining my rod/reel.
  20. If I am throwing them, I am willing to lose them. The worst day I had was when I lost 2 Jackall TN70s and a MB Pop Max.
  21. Cool story bro. Maybe most people buy expensive gears because they enjoy using them, instead of just catching fish with it? I am pretty happy with all of the combos I have right now. Dream gear will probably be Daiwa Wajima Special stuffs.
  22. Apparently it is xD http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Molecularly
  23. Well, it is going to depend on how you are using the braid. If you are using it in such manner that the line comes in contact with a lot of abrasion, you won't trust pitching with it as much right?
  24. 6 years is a bit of a stretch with any line IMO, but you can get decent mileage by keeping high quality mono/fluoro well maintained of about an year or so.
  25. At least yours still works...
