  1. Metanium 13 pretty much took its place.
  2. I think the number one thing people have against you Josh, is how you posit a lot of pretty obscure things, and try to justify them by using a mix of technical terms plus elementary calculations.
  3. Zaion sideplates with air metal frame(magnesium basically).
  4. There is still good chance that it is gone though; I can only find the Aldebaran 50mg7 and BFS XG on the Japanese website, and they usually take things off when it gets discontinued completely.
  5. Cannot comment on comparison between 50 sized shimano nor how it fits on NRX, but I have this on my MB F4-68X7 and interchange the rod between SS SV and Metanium 13 HG. It balances very well with that rod, so I imagine it will be fine on the NRX. I also like how it palms as much as the Metanium for what it is worth. Only line I used on this line is 10lb fluoro, but I imagine it would be fine handling the heavier line( only going to get 91 yards with .330mm fluoro though).
  6. Shallow spool really shines when you are casting really light lures with 8 pound or less test line. As Mike said, you won't save enough line to pay for it .
  7. I have them on my JDM rods, and I have no problems with it. I don't know what kind of condition you were keeping them in to have the rubber dry off and crack.
  8. I was wondering when that Luna was going to get picked up awesome deal.
  9. I don't like the bulkiness of the round reels in 300 sized spool either, so I would just go for Curado/Lexa/Toro reels. It will be more than enough to handle both muskies and swimbaits. I would go for one with higher IPT, since you need to be launching and reeling quickly for muskies based on my limited understandings. If you really want to spend the money, wait for the new Conquest 300 or 400 that's rumored to be released this winter. If the palming is anything like the 200s and 100s, it will be absolutely sublime.
  10. Everyone has their preference on this topic. Some guys like under 7 foot rod with medium or medium heavy power and fast action, others like 7 foot plus with moderate action. I really enjoy a moderate action, medium power rod in the 6'5 to 6'10 range. For reel, I like something with high IPT so I can pick up the slack you make from the rod movement a lot easier.
  11. Tatula for 100 dollars and *** *** Med Heavy of your choice in length.
  12. Whether something is worth it is such a subject question, and they are both excellent reels. I always find my self going for the more expensive option when I can, since I know I will regret it otherwise.
  13. I have BPS XPS Travel series and its pretty protean.
  14. Hmm, I remember seeing them for around 150 when I was looking for my first Daiwa reel, but I ended up getting a SS SV. You definitely have to shop around, but I think its a fine price for a clean TD-Z. I am sure you will enjoy it!
  15. If you have any questions regarding to fishing in Maryland, you can check out the Maryland forum in the North East Fishing section. Welcome!
  16. Well, it honestly depends up to the condition of the Z, but you can usually get a decent Type R one for around that price. Edit* A bit of a warning about TD-Z and the variants. The paint comes off pretty easily from boat rash etc, so if you are like me, who likes to keep everything in the nicest shape possible, keep it in a reel cover when you aren't using it.
  17. Hi John, I would definitely like to have a conversation about Coosa. I am a neophyte in kayaking so I definitely want to know what are some of the features that's important to anglers.
  18. Yeah its a bit over 1k for just the boat, and another 350 ish for the "fishing package" to be added, but I dont mind investing a lot of money into something that I want to be doing very frequently.
  19. Thanks for all of the information everyone. I was looking took particular interest to Ride 115, and Coosa. I was also looking at the Nucanoe Frontier with the solo bass angler package, anyone have experience on those? It doesn't look like the kayak it self have any super special features inside, but my god does that thing look stable.
  20. My upgraded Metanium 13 HG and Megabass F4-68X7 or my Conquest 2014 200 and Megabass F6-72X4. They retail for roughly the same.
  21. Man... 1k is really really hard for me to save up for my fishing fund with all of the shiny reels and rods that catches my eye all of the time. Losing my Deps SS 175 to stump has made consider getting a boat though xD.
  22. Price really isn't the issue, but I don't want to go overboard and buy the best kayak out there. I just want a solid product that I won't regret buying. Based on the results listed so far, I am guessing I should spend at least 700+ on it?
  23. Hello Bassresource, I am looking to advance from only bank fishing, but I don't own a car that can tow large boats, so I am looking to purchase my first kayak. I want to purchase one that I will be perfectly happy with as entry model, without losing out on too much quality. In other words, what is the Curado I or Tatula for Kayaks? Thanks in advance for the help gents!
  24. I love the intricate mechanical workings that goes into reels that makes them unique, so I am definitely happier purchasing them. Rods probably matter more for the overall fishing experience though.
  25. Went on couple of dates, but just couldn't find the chemistry? xD
