  1. Fishing the World with the Ol' Man and 'Bobber Anne'. It was on the Sportsman Channel.
  2. This is old, I know, but the teardrop shape split ring hasn't been mentioned, which would be like WRB said about snaps: Lure connects to the wider bottom for best action, and line is tied to the narrow top.
  3. Discontinued.
  4. Waterproof boxes seem pretty good, except sometimes condensation results. Also, I dislike canvas bags that allow water to penetrate, even after I have sprayed them with silicone.
  5. B.A.S.S. recently extended linking dates. I am looking for a new, unregistered co-angler link for the Open event on Toledo Bend in Feb. Deadline is Jan. 15, 2019. email andywbass@yahoo.com or call or text 605 481 8442.
  6. I am wondering if certain 2017 Elite Series fishermen maintained enough points to qualify for the 2018 season. Here are just a few of the questionable big names. Out of 110 fishermen, Chris Lane finished 95th in Angler of the Year David Fritts 97th Rick Clunn 101st Shaw Grigsby 104th As far as I know, B.A.S.S. has not revealed precisely where the cut line is, or possible other factors involved. (I have heard rumor of the number "70" mentioned as a cut line). I wonder if B.A.S.S. is giving any "Legends Exemptions" for the 2018 season. I would think Clunn and Grigsby would qualify as "Legends". However, it would be nice if B.A.S.S. let the public know what constitutes being a "legend". Fritts and Paul Elias were granted Legend Exemptions last year. I do not think Clunn is the kind of guy who would accept an exemption, however, I believe he knows he still has the drive and ability to perform well, and I think he WOULD accept an exemption if offered. What are your thoughts, BassResource viewers?
  7. Dear Glenn and John (Long Island Basser), I am sorry...for some reason I thought John had won the BBWC finals. I knew it was a guy from a large state, but it was the person from California, Jason Ervin. Again, my apologies. Andy Williamson
  8. June 21-22, 1975, Big Stone Lake, SD/MN. The first annual Soo Bassmasters Invitational. 26 people, all male, entered. I (Andy Williamson) went as a non-boater. All bass weighed in were largemouth. Total poundage for everyone was 53 lb. 12 oz. Day one- fished with Ben Overbaugh of Minn. He got three small keepers off Gapen's Weedcutter spinnerbait. He was a Gapen's employee. I got no bass, only perch and white bass. Day two- fished with the man that won, Jim Hasik, of Omaha, who had 12 lb. 7 oz. the first day. He and I got skunked the second day, but he still won by nearly 5 lbs. White bass bit good. Babe Winkelman entered. I have the entire results, in detail, if anybody wants them.
  9. The Ned Rig, I believe should just be called a Ned JIG. Rigs are generally made of several components--sinker(s), leader, snells, hook(s), beads, the bait (natural or artificial) and so on, such as a Carolina Rig, the famed Lindy Rig, Dakota Rig (bottom bouncer), and many others.
  10. I have signed up to fish the 2017 Big Bass World Championship contest. The contest started in 1989, and the fly-away Championship started in 1991, held on Cheatham Lake, Tennessee. Andy Williamson Lake Andes, SD
  11. Wow, I am so sorry, I did not even know Dee passed away. Where can I read an obit? Thanks.
  12. I have signed up for the 2016 BBWC!

  14. I'm entered in the 2015 BBWC (Big Bass World Championship), which began in 1989.
  15. Bigbill: The lure with the paddle in the middle is/was the Bill Norman Weed Walker and Weed Walker II. The Heddon Moss Boss does not have paddles.
