  1. I'm not sure if it's at stores or not was tempted to check last night but was out to late fishing I actually caught my first bass with a senko last night. So I was thinking about trying to keep throwing them to improve my senko knowledge.
  2. Was on the basspro website and ran acrossed this http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-104Piece-StikO-Kit-with-360-Tackle-Storage-Box/product/10209442/ I'm curious for 13$ if this would be a steal?
  3. http://m.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-XPS-Stalker-Backpack-Tackle-Bag-or-System/product/1304050935/ that is what I use for bank fishing and is absolutely perfect top portion is insulated can be used to keep food or drinks cold or as storage and holds a good amount of plastics
  4. Okay good advice. How slow so I fish plastics? I get very impatient and I think I may fish to fast.
  5. I baught a digital scale at basspro for 15$. Didn't think it would be accurate so I took it to bass pro and weighed a 3 lb weight and it weighed 3.10 then a 5lb weight and it weighed 5.02 so Its pretty d**n close and for 15$ I don't think I could beat it. If interested on brand and possibly a pic I could get it for ya.
  6. Alrighty, I have been fishing this pond this year its not very deep it seems, but I have pulled out 14 bass in 3 hours large bass too, but this was during spawn and now they are on beds and rattletraps are not working. I have fished spinners with no luck and tried plastics and no luck, I may be fishing them wrong or to fast. Can you guys give me some ideas on what tackle I should try using and or how to display it. Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Love Nick
  7. I have tons of jigs but never fish them. I don't know when or how to fish them or with or without trailers maybe someone can explain a bit for me?
  8. lmao.. I ment to say overcast.. How dumb of me. **Title has been edited -roadwarrior
  9. What do you all do on a overcast day. I went today and not a single bite. I used black/chrom rattle trap jerk bait plastics and spinner bait and nothing. Its been around 70-80 the past few days. I feel like its because they're nesting, but what do you all think? I'm bank fishing also.
  10. I use a Johnny Morris carbon life combo with 12 lb line
  11. Okay cool the water is muddy I can see probably a foot down. But the thing is I can't get a good cast with a senko at all maybe 15 ft which seems not far at all.
  12. It isn't fished to heavily I occasionally see people fishing it. The weather is usually about the same temp or so. Same time as usual. I just need to fish plastics but I don't know what plastics to use and how to fish them or were to cast them
  13. Alright my first time at this pond was 2 weeks ago I caught 14 bass, a 4lb and 2 3.5 lb and the rest were 1-3 lb. I have been back I would say atleast 6 times and I have only caught 2 bass. What seems to be the problem its fairly large and has very little cover I caught all of the 14 bass on a Strink king red eye shad. I have thrown in spinners topwaters and worms and I cant seem to get anything out of it again. What would you guys recommend?
  14. Thanks! Tons of advice its slipping is what it is. I also noticed after tieing a knot I'm using 12 lb and 15 lb Pline mono and it looks pretty stretched out after tieing a knot and I honestly dont pull it to hard. Should I be using floro? Or is mono the best.
  15. Hey, Im having the hardest time with my knots. I have lost 3 kvd red eye shad luresthis past month thats about 18$ in lures plus 18$ to replace them. Can someone please recommend a good knot? I tie EVERYTHING with the same knot. Not sure what its called its what my dad taught me. I put the string throug the lure hole and rap it around the line 6 times then I put it through the first loop and tighten it down after making sure the line was wet before I tighten it. Any advice would be fantastic and maybe a link to a site that shows the knot.
  16. So I'm new to bass fishing. I have been killing bass with The Red Eye Shad lipless crank and pulled in my biggest bass at 4 lbs, but the bite has slowed down and I'm not having much luck. I tried spinner baits and kvd 1.5 square bills and still no luck. What time of year is it usually best to use a jerk bait or rattle trap or crank baits and different plastics?
  17. Alright, I'm just now getting started into bass fishing. I bought a Johnny Morris Rod/reel combo from a buddy for 75$ it was all perfect other then the tip of the pole lost its O ring. So it being my first time and should have watched a video but didnt I replaced it by putting a lighter too it well I didnt realize the top would slip off till I burnt the tip off.. I wasnt to happy, but any ways I cut off the burt part it took about 1 inch off the pole. I bought a new top guide and put it on. I'm just curious my top guide is actually a bit bigger then the one right under it, will it affect anything it being bigger? Or will it be the same thing as it being smaller? Will it decrease my sensitivity alot? On a good note. I found a great pound today and fished it caught 14 bass in about 3 hours my biggest ever being at 4 lbs and another at 3.5 lbs the rest from 1lb to 2.5lbs. So that made the mood a bit better. Buddy said my scale was off and theres no way that bass was 4 lbs because I sent a pick so drove to the local walmart found me a 3 lb and 5 lb wait attached a peice of fishing line to each one and weighed them scale showed 3.10 lbs and on the 5 lb weight 5.02 lbs. He still doesnt believe me.. lol thanks for any input guys!
  18. Thanks for the advice.. lol I sadly have bought TON's of cranks/spinners/plastics because a good buddy of mine is a very serious angler, but its hard to get any serious answers out of him because he is set on his ways and how he does things. He pulls 6-10 lb bass out all the time and I'm not catching anything. So I guess I'll just start with learning my plastics just because I have always caught bass on them before. Is there any types of plastics that you would run in open water? Kinda like a crank bait? Or are most plastics made for fishing laydowns/stumps/cover?
  19. Alright, First off I have fished my whole life, but I just recently started to only fish for bass I have 2 Bass pro johnny morris carbonlite rod/reel combos and I plan to add to my collection once I understand what lures/baits to use and when to use them. There are so many to use that its crazy. What I'm trying to figure out is do all anglers use every type of bait. Like does everyone use cranks/spinners/jigs and all plastics? Or do most have a preference what they will use when. What I'm trying to ask is example I dont like senkos I do most of my fishing from banks and I cant get a good cast with a weightless senko I prefer to use a weighted curly tailed worm is thera big difference. Will some people prefer to fish the same spot differently or will most people fish a laydown the same way or cover the same way. My main thing is there are so many types of plastics out there that I dont know when to use what plastics. Like whens it best to use worms or senkos or craws. I'm sorry for such a long post but I'm trying to figure this out. thanks for any help.
