  1. Looking for a choo choo boater link from someone fishing the entire season. Thanks
  2. A bass boat should sit low in the water which will prevent it from being blown around in the wind as much. It should have large fishing decks which allow for several rods to be on the deck and still have plenty of room to fish. It should also have room to fight the fish... not high windshields or high side to work around. A multi species will do a find job... do doubt. To many it is preferred. I have a friend who prefers a center console boat for bass fishing... nothing wrong with that. It is really about what you plan to do with it. I have a Bass boat... on those days when the lake has 4 and 5 foot rollers I kind of wish I was in my friends center console. But... most days I prefer my Bass boat. Greg
  3. I have the Costas with the 580G lens. It is a pretty dark lens... on some days I wish I had the green lens. I also have some Maui Jims which have an amber lens... they are great sunglasses but they don't "see through" the water as well as the Costas. I have a pair of Costa Fathoms with the same 580G lens that I have worn twice... long story but I broke a pair on vacation... bought a new pair... Costa sent me a new replacement pair so I have those for sale... $189.00... Paid $239.00. Sorry wrong forum for that but I am not trying too hard to sell them anyway. Greg
  4. Ha... still hanging around... Ole Miss does have a custom on Saturday home games that would fit better at LSU... crawfish low country boil just outside center field... Had my first ever crawfish there this year. Thanks for the tip on the "chant"... Greg
  5. No replies so I will respond to myself. I went over to Pickwick and fished a little Friday evening and Saturday. Didn't set it on fire but did manage 8-10 fish. Most were smallish. Around 15" or so. Best fish was about 3.5 lbs on a lipless crank. All others were on a shaky rigged worm. At one point when we had no hits for a while I thought I would try something out of the box and put a bubble gum super finesse worm on the shaky head and caught a catfish on the next cast... Crazy. .. My daughter caught 3 or 4 so she was happy. Good to be able to spend time with her. Greg
  6. I kayak fish around Dalton and you would be surprised how many bass you can catch in Coahuila creek above praters mill. A guy told me about it and it shocked how many quality fish are in there. Same thing over on conasauga river. Probably the biggest fish from the bank comes from the tailwaters at Carter's lake and below Chickamauga. If you don't mind driving a little the Rocky Mountain PFA in Rome has some big bass. My Nephew fishes from the bank there and has caught i bet a dozen over 7lbs in the last few years. Can't think of much else real close to Dalton other than the Oostanala in Resaca. Hope that helps
  7. Hello all... My name is Greg and I am from North Ga. I am headed over to Pickwick on Friday to spend a couple of days with my daughter fishing... she is driving over from Oxford Ms where she goes to college. I have never been on the lake... we decided on Pickwick because it is a reasonable drive for her since she has to be back for a team practice on Sunday afternoon. Anyway... I would love to be able to put her on a spot to land a few small mouth... she has never caught one before... but to be honest small mouth , large mouth... I just want to land a few fish if we can. Any tips or pointers would be great. Looks like we will be staying at the Inn and using the state park ramp. Since I do not know the lake at all, I really would like to keep the running around to a minimum... Any places on that end of the lake would be great. If there are any dangerous shallows that only the locals know about that would help.... we have some of those on Chickamauga... you have to know the lake this time of year or you will find a sand bar or two and ruin a good weekend. We don't have many small mouth around here so I am not even sure how to approach this... what technique , what depth should I be looking this time of year, crank baits or shaky heads... or whatever... any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance... Greg
