Thank you for the help, but what do you have to say about casting? Whys that so different?

Im mainly conceded with the weight/balance. For instance, if I had the 9.9oz reel would I need a certain length or weight to a pole?

I just bought the Mitchell 300 pro and its 9.9 oz. Now how do I find a rod that will work very well with that reel? Ive been looking at a medium Abu Garcia Veritas. Any ideas?

Its day 3 on a 5 day streak of sunny 80 degree weather. When fishing ponds what do you guys think I should look for. I plan on going out around 5 today and fishing till about 8. Id say the ponds around 700ft long 250ft wide with decent lillypad cover on one side. Whats the first thing y'all look for in ponds such as the one described. I haven't had any luck with anything besides soft plastics. The bass I've caught are around 1-2lbs. Any tips to find the bruisers.
