  1. I have a 3600 style soft bag for when I go out. When I leave to go out fishing I just pick out my plastics for the day from my home storage. At home I have 3 boxes. Two are the Plano pro latch utility storage 3731. These work great for your normal size bags (Havocs, zooms and so on) My other box I use is a Flambeau 4150 terminal tackle file. This works okay for over sized badge such as 7, 8in and larger worms. I wish there was a better option for the larger, but it works, plus I can add odd packages such add Basstrix with no problem. When my son wakes up I can take a pick or two. You can find the above at TW.
  2. I would love to find a deal life that. Best I have gotten was a drill at Wal-Mart. They miss labeled a $300 cordless for $50... But I have gotten friends who have found reels at Wal-Mart (Abu Garcia's silver and blacks) for under $20 for a combo. Our fishing glasses that where $30 for $10. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough.
  3. So I think I just put in my last mail order before the season. I still need some items here and there (Like line, and to stock up on some more lures), but I am not activly looking for large orders. Last orders I place consisted a new PFD, a couple hair jigs for walleye fishing, a D&M Custom chatter, and a Z Man project Chatter. (Oh and 2 orders from the BR comunity)
  4. Chart, and clear, but I also picked up a red to die tips.
  5. He was with me looking at things and asking questions the whole time. I would point out a set of like 4 different spinners and told him to pick one. He would ask me what was better and why, and what are the perks. So it wasn't like I was blindly point out things and saying buying that.
  6. I spent a little over $100 and he got stocked up. I didn't get things like swims and glides. Plus I was nice and have him some if my tackle.
  7. I have found a way to beat the bait monkey! So my brother, who has gone fishing with me a couple times came to me yesterday. He said you know I don't have any tackle, and we are set to go on an fishing outing this year. Wait for it... He than ask me to buy a tackle box and stock it!!!! You can imagine I started to scream like a giddy school girl. Spending someone elses money on tackle!?! Yes please! But it was truly fun to go to Gander and shop for tackle with him. He knows little about fishing or tackle. I think the best part about this upcoming trip will be to teach him.
  8. I picked up 10 bags and cleared out the zoom collection. There wasn't tons, but it was too good of a price to pass up.
  9. So after spending the day at the sportsmen show here in town I decided to hit my local gander. I was finding Big Bite's, and Berkley's for $2. ( zoom lizard, hogs, and Berkley lizards and creatures) Matzou's 3 Pac square bills that dived 1-4 & 2-5 where originally $7, and now marked down to $5. Just thought I would tell those who are looking for some soft baits.
  10. Drinking and driving/operating is all the same. Trying to justify it by make excuses is just wrong, and makes you an irresponsible.
  11. I just bought a piranh, and piranha II from TW , and they look stout. I mean if you want you could upgrade the split ring, but I don't see the need to.
  12. I have a couple more in mind that I would like to try, but I guess money is the key factor, and I have been spending way too much
  13. I was thinking the same thing.. I might order one next week to try out.
  14. So much so I bought some.. I haven't received them yet, but I'm already happy.. lol
  15. You don't have to buy it. Stay with cheaper lures. It's like saying I'm going to buy a car. You don't have to buy a Porch, a Geo Metro will do. But some want that name and are welling to pay X% more for something that does that exact same thing.
  16. Bigger lures do not always mean bigger fish. You can catch a lunker off a 6" wacky rig if you wanted to. Now a bigger lure is going to keep away some smaller fish, but doesn't guarantee monsters. I know here in Minnesota our biggest is under 9lbs, but an average is 3-4lbs. If you catch a 5 you have had a great day. 6+ lbs makes for a great season. My PB where 2 6's the past season, and that was caught of just a small 1/2oz spinner and a 2 1/2" lazy Ike.
  17. Sounds familiar. My brother in law has a set of $20 spider wire glasses and tells me all the time to look at something. And I can't see it. $400 prescription sunglasses, horrible for fishing, great for driving.
  18. I just bought some D&M's and I am happy over the quality. I was not happy over the original Z-Mans and since refused to buy them. I will try the new line and give them a second chance.
  19. I don't know the brand, but I have a set of tinted and polarized prescriptions. They work great at cutting glare, but don't do a darn thing to help see through the water (that isn't right under your nose) I think doing both was an over kill. But myself have been looking into just using glasses with a polarized clip on that's in Amber.
  20. Bibs, rain suits? I throw on a water resistant wind breaker, poncho, and hope that I didn't forget to pack my sandals or a fresh set of socks and dry shoes. Two openers ago it was 34° with a heavy wind. So cold that ice was forming on the rod guides. I guess I could see the want in it in that case. But being young and dumb make for great life lessons down the road.
  21. Well it all came in. I picked up as much jerk baits as I could for the price range I set for myself. That darn 110 was a pocket book killer, but glad I got it.
  22. My TW jerk bait order is here! Now to make it through the rest of my shift... I will have to post pics when I get home and unbox it.
  23. Broke collage kid I am not, and last hall of a high school I saw was with my son at an orientation. But I think fishing junkie about sums it up. Now I'm not a person top have 50 of one lure, and one in each color. I do however like to try new baits, and as time has gone on the price range has varied. It wasn't to long ago I though a $15 crank was way too much. Now I have no problem paying $30 for something I don't have. I guess I am just lucky to have a great paying job, an understanding wife, and I think one of the best hobbies/passions out there (Fishing!).
  24. Go to JPAngler.com I think, and they have them for around 15 - 17. But even at $22 - $25 for a Megabass I don't think it is too much.
