I'm not going to try out any new baits this year but my New Years Resolution is to get out on the water more. At least once per week March through September.

All great tips! I fish clear water a lot as well and I stick to jigs and t-rigged plastics in natural colors like browns, watermelon, ect. Good luck and right lines

My first was a Lews MG just a few years ago. Still a great reel I caught my PB on it.

Big storm coming through the south this Easter weekend. Here in NC we've gotten about an inch in the past 24 hours. Sad days.....

I agree with what everyone else has been saying. Don't worry yourself with distance. Just focus on accuracy of your casts and not backlashing. But if you want numbers I usually throw a 3/8 ounce jig about 40 yards and I can throw big cranks 50+ yards. That being said you won't get a very good hook up ratio at these distances so don't stress about it. Good luck and happy fishing!

I do not own either of these reels but I have casted them hundreds of times and had hours of experience testing them. The Revo S is a good and smooth reel but I would go with the lews if it were me. I am a diehard Lews fan and have several of their reels. I am looking at getting the tournament pro or bb1 very soon. Good luck and happy fishing!

I have plenty of success with the 4-7$ cranks I am currently using so I don't see a point in switching to the bait balls. They are just too expensive. But hey that's just me. If someone else wants to fill a box with 12+ dollar lures more power to them.

I have a decent amount of soft plastics and was wondering how y'all store them in a kayak? I have about 30 bags I like to keep on me when fishing and haven't found a good way to keep them together. I tried putting them in a gallon ziplock bag and that was a disaster......plastics everywhere. Anybody got any good methods?

I am a fan of the Booyah frogs. They are cheap and catch tons of fish. Plus, my local Dicks Sporting Goods always has a huge variety of them in different colors/styles.

They are $2.99 at my local dicks sporting goods. All xcalibur baits are that price. I picked up several XCS square bills and lipless cranks. Good deal for a good product.

Like several people said, I use sharpies to color in my led bullet weights all the time and it doesn't repel them at all. Good luck and happy fishin

As a few others have said the xcalibur XCS series square bills are great. They are like the kvds but about 20 times better. And only $2.99 at Dicks Sporting Goods.....try them and you won't regret it

Honestly I've oy thrown black, yellow and green frogs and the fish seem to respond equally well with all of them so I don't think color is as important as presentation.

I typically throw rapala x-raps from my kayak and keep my rod tip nearly straight up when working it. I can still twitch it and give it a lot of action but it'll run shallower. And jerkbaiting is my favorite tequnique for bass year round. Hope this helps and good luck!

I have tried everything from square bills in all sizes and colors to lipless cranks, top water frogs, buzz and spinnerbaits. I throw soft plastics a lot and the most effective bait I have found is the jerkbait and jig but these are not killers I just catch the occasional fish with these baits. Also I use lews baitcasters with miss green power pro line.

Hey guys, I fish a ton of small lakes/big ponds in central NC and they are super clear (10 foot plus visibility). I have thrown a ton of different baits at the fish and I haven't found one bait they really hone in on. Any tips for baits? And also do I need an invisible flurocarbon leader? Any tips would be much appreciated?

I caught a decent dinger fish the other day too. Nice lil 2.5 pounder on the white pearl senko.

Personally I like the pad crashers. It's easy to walk and you don't feel bad if you throw it in a tree and loose it. Naturally, this allows you to throw the frog in areas with very dense cover because you aren't worried about loosing a $10+ frog. Just my opinion......

That's pretty cool. I have a GoPro and I've been wanting to try it out on my kayak I just don't know how to attach it.....
