  1. Well stick around it gets better!
  2. I like the tea tree oil myself. It comes in many different forms such as lotions and soap. I like the soap for quick relief, however drying off has to be done carefully otherwise the itch comes right back. Something no one has mentioned yet..... When you touched the poison oil, you contaminated your hands. Anything and everything you touched after that now has poison oak oil contaminating it. So youd be wise to clean anything you touched with soap and hot water to remove the oil. Fishing rod, vest, steering wheel, glasses, hat, etc............ Supposedly that oil can stay active on a surface for over a year. For instance say your walking through the woods and you walk through some ivy or oak and contaminate your pants. You go home and take off your pants tossing them in the corner of the laundry room. The next day you get poison oak but forget about the pants. 2 weeks later you go in and wash the pants re-contaminating yourself with the poison oak. I used to get poison ivy all the time growing up. If you are out in the woods and you get poison ivy'd, you can take the stalk of those water plants - the ones with yellow or orange flowers and the seed pods that explode when you touch them, and split open the stalk of the plant. Smear the plant slime onto where the ivy touched until you can get to a place to wash the oil off. This is a good remedy for if your hiking and going to be out awhile, or camping.
  3. thats cool! Good luck and becareful!
  4. too cute! Congratulations on the new fishing buddy!
  5. At a few of the spots I fish around the 3 rivers here is Pittsburgh, they have pulled bodies from the exact spots I have fished. Just yesterday on the news a man was fishing at a park near a launch ramp in Pitt on the Mon river, and pulled in a chunk of hair. Testing confimed it to be human. Fished there many times. Another spot on the Allegheny river they pulled a car out with the remains of a man who had been missing for 3 years. The vehicle was completly covered in snagged fishing line. No doubt some of which was mine. I find both cases to be shocking. It kind of freaks me out you know? Not a fish, but Id certaily be surprised if I pulled in a chunck of someone. Maybe shocked and horrified would better describe the feeling. But then again, imagine the cats you could catch with a chunk of.........nah
  6. http://fishandboat.com/county.htm The Pa fish commission has a ton of resources to help you find places to fish. Whether or not they are any good is for you to decide! Look around their site too. They have free maps that show access points and such that you can order off the site. http://fishandboat.com/map_regionguide.htm
  7. Nice footballs!! How deep are you fishing? Thats main lake right? Not the bay?
  8. Its funny though. The shops get an early spring shipment in of all the colors they need to fill their racks. Usually within the week all the good colors are gone. So unless you know the owner, good luck chuck. A tube is def my goto bait.
  9. SHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Dont tell him that!! Those tubes are terrible, absolute trash!! Please mail all Vibra King tubes to BASS_fisherman 225 gonefishin lane Pittsburgh Pa 12345 I will properly dispose of them right into my arsenal. Honestly if you find any of these in the Pittsburgh area, I have been slipping. I empty pegs when I find them! Alot of the tackle shops around here have bulk bags of tubes. Usually 50 pieces per bag. And I pay $15 a bag. They are the same as the BPS flippin tubes.
  10. Ha ha!! It happens to most people. And its always so funny to watch. A few years ago I was fishing a tourney on the Ohio river and the water was a bit high. It was windy and raining all day but the most hectic part was trailering after the check in. It was a tiny ramp with a huge dropoff to one side and the current was fast. It made me very nervous watching the guys try and try again to line it up. Most took a handful of times and when they did get it, luck and good timing played a huge role. Another club member told of a time when he went to a launch extra early, hoping to beat any other fishermen or tourney anglers to the lake. He was alone so he had a rope tied to his boat and would launch it with a rope tied off on the shore. Doing it often he didnt look behind at the boat as he drove away to park the trailer. From the moment he pulled out of the water till he parked and walked back down to the ramp, maybe 5 min has gone bye. When he gets to the water he sees his boat floating farther out into the lake. Thinking quick, he rips off his clothes and races in after the boat. He climbs in, starts her up, and back to the ramp he goes. Right as he gets to the ramp, one of the local bass clubs was arriving for a tournament. He said he was standing there naked and all of the sudden this line of trucks comes through the woods and he is scrambling to dress. Im not sure if he took off or what happened after that. My favorites are the folks who back in way too far so the tail pipe is bubbling.
  11. For spray scents I like the Bang brand the best. They offer 4 different scents- garlic, shad, craw, and a combo of shad and craw together. If your careful, I would recommend JJ's magic. I have found it to be so much better than anything else because the stuff is potent. If you use JJ's on a plastic and dont throw it away before you stow your gear, the next time you open that storage, your going to be wondering who snuck in and stashed a loaf of garlic bread? JJ's comes in small bottles that can easily spill if your not careful. I have been nursing 4 bottles for over a year now and as long as you treat it like platonium you will be ok. When you do get it on your skin, it smells like you were smashing garlic with your hands. Not exactly roses, but not rotting shad niether. Being a scent/dye, they offer 4 different colors (i think). Chartruese, blue, metholate, and clear. I think they may have added another color too, not sure though. Bang is very easy to carry and simple to hit a lure every cast with little mess. Another thing you can do is use plastics that come with the scent already added. I Prefer Rage Tail, YUM, and Berkley Powerbait plastics with scent added the best. With these brands the baits are not drenched in the scent helping to avoid stink fingeritus. YUM recently released a new line of scents called their F2 line. I am def trying this sometime this season too!
  12. Im personally not a fan mainly because you have to rub it on yourself and I dont want that crap on my fingers. But they have a huge following so I would imagine the stuff works. Usually products like that come and go, but Megastrike has been around a few years now so there must be something to it. Im a prissy fisherman when it comes to using scents and dyes. I dont want jelly all over my fingers that smells like rotting shad with essence of some nasty pheremone that makes me gag. I want a bottle to dip lures in, or a bottle with a pump that sprays. Trying to use some implement to spread the jelly on doesnt work to well either. I even tried a plastic bag to dip my lure in it then you squirt in the jelly. That just makes a mess if your not careful. I was not careful and havent tried it since because it still made a mess.
  13. That is NOT a giant, and she didn't catch it. Looked like she snagged it Its more of a medium size. The ones at a local pond I hit are eaily pushing 12 maybe even 15 pounds. They are the biggest goldfishies I have seen. Im curious to hear Matt's story.
  14. I hope everyone in his family is doing ok at this point. My Dad died Feb 2 2010, and it is amazing how hard it is. still Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
  15. My Dad was in the Navy so he had alot of big water experience. Never got sick from being at sea either. Then years latter after my parents had my brother and sister, my Dad talked of getting really sick anytime they would take a road trip. Anything over 15-20 min was too much and would make him sick. Then as I was growing up the sickness went away, and he never had motion sickness that I can ever remember. He was not someone to go to the doctor unless it was dire so he never knew why he was getting sick or why it stopped.
  16. I like the last 3 seconds the best. It is so silly, is that really what a death metal singer does to warm-up? They warm-up? For real?
  17. http://www.wimp.com/warmingup/ What about this one? Is it real?
  18. No no you have got it all wrong! Instead of velcro try a piece of metal that is sharpened to a point with a bend in it to.......oh wait
  19. Nice bass for firsties!
  20. That is Kentucky simplicity right there. Thats why its so laid back down there.
  21. ew ew ewwwww pick me!!!!! Is it a Rapala? JK def norman. There is something about a Norman crankbait that is special. Kind of like a classic car or a good home cooked meal. They make me feel all warm inside! See my avatar picture? Same color but it was a DD22!
  22. No..... heres why.... You would see the reflection of the lightning in the vehicles. You dont. If you look closely, the lightning graphic itself is poor. Lighting has been known to blow the shoes off of people. It is a buildup and energy that is violently released from the ground to the air, etc.. Watch closely and he looks like a bad actor. He just falls down both times. If you have ever been shocked you know that electricity moves you. He wouldnt have just fallen over like that. Tatal cukka
  23. In western Pa most say "pop". Towards the center of Pa they say "soda". You could always surprise everyone and call it a "cola soda pop".
  24. I didnt mean the videos, I meant this whole shebang. From the lonely begginings to the present. Think of all the fish caught just because of..............you and you know all that other stuff that goes along with that? friendships and memories and lots of good times
  25. If only you knew the amount of work you signed up for. Would you still do it? You better say yes.........
