  1. I have a few packs of 3X plastics. I like them alot. Im not sure what all the names are, but I have several packs of the finesse worms in various colors. I have the craw trailer in a couple colors, and a few others too. The 3X plastics are best for me when I rig them to bottom bounce. They work great for shakey head jigging, and carolina rigs too. You can also use them as a topwater. I have a wide range of colors ranging from metholate, bubble gum, and chartruese up to watermelon. I always buy mine of sale too. Buy em up! Usually they are alot more than 97 cents.
  2. I have to disagree. One thing would be better......watching that big bass take your bait or lure. I have watched a few bass take a lure and even though they fail in size compared to Fish Chris's fish, they still sucked them lures in faster than the blink of an eye.
  3. Yes and Yes...............
  4. Shoot man, consider yourself lucky if you got away with just one pack of those puppies. I went into a tackleshop last weekend to get ONE new casting rod. I walked out with FOUR. And just last night I was checking out a deal I heard about dealing with three reels. I planned on only buying one, maybe two. I ended up getting all three. ;) To answer your question...... I have seen those swimbaits. I got two packs of the same size in a bluegill pattern, and I got the 4inch version of the rainbow trout. I haven't thrown them enough because I just got them a month or so ago. Come on spring!
  5. I was at Dick's a while back and they have their own brand of certain items, one being the inline spinner, 99cents each. I picked up four in differrent colors and different sizes, I'm thinking 1/4 ounce and 1/8 ounce. I haven't thrown them yet, but I plan to do some fishin' with them this spring. I got a firetiger pattern, 2 rainbow patterns, and a black and gold pattern that I have no idea of what it mimicks, but I got it because of the colors.

  8. Not yesterday Went fishin yesterday afternoon. Temp: Too COLD!!!! and snowing Water temp: 28 degrees F Type of water: Allegheny river slightly stained to muddy water clarity I tried a grub on a jig but nothing wanted it.
  9. When I get back from Dick's sporting goods, I save all my reciepts. I only save the Dick's receipts, and I'd say that these receipts only total about 1/3 of the receipts I would have, if I had saved receipts from other stores and tackle shops too. I decided to go through them, and I had no idea there would be so many. In the bottom right corner, there is a pile, that contains almost 120 receipts. The longest receipt is 34 inches.
  10. I would LOVE to interview Ike, but those pros are very very hard to get ahold of. Anyone got any connections?
  11. I ended up getting some last Saturday and just wanted to know some different applications for the product. I bought the chartruese garlic dye. I tried it on a bunch of old torn up plastics to see which ones the dye would show on. The coolest looking one was a YUM craw trailer that has blue flakes in it. After I dyed the tips, the flake looked green. Yellow+Blue=Green. I also noticed that the longer you leave the plastic in the dye, the darker the dye appears on the plastic. That helps if your dyeing dark colors like watermelon seed. Anyone other than LAB, use any other color than chartruese? Also, has anyone tried the Spike-it markers? They had one pack of those, and I had to smack the bait monkey to get him off my back over those markers. ;D
  12. Here are the questions I sent to Ish from the forum members. Thanks for submitting the questions, and thanks to Ish for taking the time to answer them. Avid, I am sorry I missed your question, I'll ask him and get back to you. Sorry I dont fish with anyone. thanks for the offer. _____________ Questions: I have always had good sponsor relations. When I was not catchin them I was doing as many articles as I could to keep the sponsors happy. I worked any show they asked and even some they didnt. And I took baby steps into the business. I caught them in CA and saved before I thought of going on the pro Tour. ___________________ You cant control conditions. I just go fishing and have fun. Its not complicated, it's just fishing. ____________________ If they are not gammies, they get changed. And if they are and they're not the right size, I change them. ____________________ Anytime you can go fishing is a good idea! Color does not make that much if a difference when your fishing a big bait. its the size of the bait thats makes them react. I catch fish all the time on rainbow trout colored baits when they have no trout in the lake. ____________________ I have 8in lizzards and craws. And the big swim baits like the new Tru Tungsten swim bait that is coming. ____________________ Marketing for some fishing industry company. ____________________ Topwater! If the Dam had the deppest water then it would be the dam. Or the thickest cover I can find. ____________________ I tell them the truth. Because I believe that people cant catch someone elses fish. Thats why I dont hire guides or get help. _____________________ I am not moving to Texas, I am just building a second home there I have no plan to live in Texas full time. Ish
  13. The same thing happened to me on the first tackle bag I ever had. Not the best looking bag on the lake, but it works. I took some line and just wrapped it around the two pieces that hold it together. If that doesnt make sense, it is just replacing the plastic fixture with fishing line. It is actually stronger than the plastic fixture that was originally holding the strap to the bag.
  14. I've been hearing alot the past few months about Spike-it, and how on occasion, the bass won't hit a regular jig and trailer but when you dip the trailer tips in Spike-it, they eat it up. I'm wondering who has tried this product and what did you think? What color plastics do you use it on? And what color Spike-it do you think works best and when?
  15. Thanks for the questions from everyone. I sent the interview to Ish, so when he responds to the interview, I will post his answers. I was surprised so few asked questions. I believe I sent all the questions, but if I missed one I appoligise. Thanks again! No More Questions Please
  16. Nice photos LBH. I like the snow and don't mind driving in it at all. It is the ice that gets ya.
  17. I figured I missed something. According to what I have read, Perry was 19 or 20 when he caught the record. That man looks older than 20 years old. Could it possibly be the older gentleman who took Perry fishing that day, Jack Page? If it is, why would he want to pose for a pic with it since it wasn't his fish? Or why would Perry let him?
  18. Being in water to an extent. If the water is clear thats ok, but anything like a lake with stained, murky, or muddy water will not see me swimming in it. I always feel like there is some man eating monster in there just waiting for me to jump in. Fishing in it, or out of a boat on the water is fine, doesn't bother me in the least. I also have a fear of parasitic bugs. It wigs me out to think something can live in you. I would cut my own arm off to get rid of something living in my arm. As fast as I possibly could too. I also don't like bugs if they are on me, unless it is on my terms. Such as reaching my hand out and letting it crawl on me. When I'm sleeping and I feel something crawling up the side of my leg, look out!
  19. http://www.mrlurebox.com/GeorgePerryBass.htm Found this link on another site. Claims to be a picture of the world record bass.
  20. I fish a very similar lake that is about 1/3 that size, maybe 25 acres max. I have heard that the lake, more of a big pond actually, has been home to a 13# LM bass, and I actually saw a news paper article with the guy who caught and RELEASED the 13 pounder. When you get a lake that is rather small and gets alot of pressure, the bigger bass tend to relate to offshore structure most often. If the lake rents boats, rent one, and get yourself a portable fish finder so you can find some good structure next to some deep water, and also fish weed edges next to deeper water. Fish the area with baits that have a natural look to them like swimbaits, jigs, and big worms. Livebait works best at times also, such as shinners, worms, and craws. But try to mimick natural forage as well. I like the idea of giving them something that stands out like a brook trout, thats a good idea. Make long casts to the spot so you don't spook em. Work the area thoroughly, using slow retreives that could take several minutes to get in. Acorrding to Mr Hannon, the best time to catch the good ol' bigguns is in the middle of the day. You want to be as quiet as possible when it comes to moving around the boat. Loud thumps will transmit threw the hull of the boat and into the water spooking the fish, or alerting them to your presence. Make sure you take a camera and a scale and a net will help land the bass too. According to Fish Chris and some other big bass hunters, the bites are few and far between. Sometimes you will get lucky and catch a big one out of the blue off of shallow structure and/or cover, but from what I understand the big ones usually stick to deeper structure when pressure is high. Another thing to try is fishing where no one else does. If the lake has thick weeds that would discourage most anglers, tie on a big jig and flip it into the weeds. Makeing sure to have adaquete rod, reel, and line to horse the pigs out, or go to them. The key is finding spots where no one else fishes. Find the spots that receive the least pressure and you will most likely get some big ol' gooduns.
  21. I dont have any plastics that are swimming in oil or attractant. The salt mixes with the other plastics though, but thats a good thing in my opinion. I dont have special boxes. The juiciest plastics I have that I can think of are some Storm lizards, and they arent bad at all.
  22. That is hella funny! ;D ;D
  23. I look at it like this, if someone is willing to share a honey hole with me (that sounds so dirty), I would keep it a secret. They trusted me enough to tell me, and I wouldn't want to break that trust.
  24. I haven't seen Kiethscatch around in a while. Seems he disappeared a couple months ago.
