  1. I'm not understanding what your saying. Are you saying that most would rather meet up at a retaurant instead of at BPS? If that is the case, I would not be in agreeance. Living on the Western side of the state and not having a BPS to go to means 1 of 2 things. We either order offline, or drive to your side of the state. Now meeting everyone would be great, but half of the trip would be the experience of going to BPS. Is that what you mean? Im not sure.
  2. I have the same problem before a tournament. This year I have been staying up 2 nights before the tournament so that I am dead tired the night before the tournament. Say the tourney is Saturday morning. I'll stay up really late Thursday night, and stay up all day Friday (no nap). Then Friday night you'll be dead tired.
  3. I have tried it. I didnt like it very much. Your better off tieing on a crankbait and using that to search the bottom structure. If your primarily going to use it on your kayak, Id get a regular depth finder for it. There are different variations that you can look into for use on the yak.
  4. I agree 100% BB! I used to night fish alot. I feel it has honed my ability to feel even the smallest tap on that bait. My only problem are the bats that swoop down and hit my line thinking it's a bug. Everytime the bat bumps the line it feels similar to a fish taping at the lure. >
  5. They are good cranks. I have caught a fair share of fish on the DT series too. But, just like any lure, different brands have different places. Floaters vs suspending, wood vs plastic, wide wobble vs tight wobble....etc......... You really have to play around with the different brands to get a feel for what works best and when.
  6. Id say "if you have to ask, you probably wouldn't understand."
  7. I'd be willing to bet you have been there as a tournament was going on and you just didn't know it. They usually get there very early, and launch at sun up. Our club usually fishes until 3-3:30pm. Rarely will you see sponsored anglers in small local tournaments, and be able to instantly know they have sponsors. They are there but they don't always wear their tournament jerseys for club events. Usually our BASS club has our second tournament of the season on Crooked Creek. If your interested you may be able to fish that tournament as a guest. If you don't have a bass boat, you can fish as a rider in someone else's boat. If your interested, let me know. We will have to wait till the week or so before that tournament to see how many boat owners will make it, therefore determining the number of guest slots we will have. So far I only have one honey hole on that lake. I have lots of other spots, but they aren't always productive like my honey hole.
  8. Glad you like it Grimlin!! I did a bit of homework, but most of the stuff is among my favorite fishing stuff. Merry Christmas!!!
  9. That's classic!! Great story and thanks for sharing!!
  10. I may have to camp! I always loved camping when I was younger. I haven't camped in 7-8 years though.
  11. Allright, fa-gat-aboud-it I think I'll be there, maybe, possibly, hopefully. ;D Pick a date and Ill be there!!
  12. $250-$300? What are you gonna hitch hike and have them tow your boat? Eat out of garbage cans, and bath in the lake? How in the world? I can't imagine spending only that much! From Pittsburgh, that much would cover just the gas to the lake!! ;D You said about camping, what are the temps down there that time of year? I really want to go this year, really really really bad!! Maybe I can show yinz Im not the nut case most of you probably think I am.
  13. I'd hate to commit to it and have things fall through at the last moment. I'd love to be there though!!
  14. Good for you Joe! I have done that with smaller, keeper bass too. I throw it back and some yahoo wants to keep it. NOPE!! That fish may have been from a tournament that had released her and she happened to munch on your SB.
  15. I'd love to go, but that is a haul--->195 mi about 3 hours 18 mins Once everyone chimes in and a date is picked, Ill see what I can do.
  16. I have fished it a few times and only caught fish once. I got a couple on a black YUM tube and a smallie on a popper. I found the pond on Google Earth. 9lbs 8oz is a freakin pig for PA!!!! What did you catch it on, and what time of year was it?
  17. Crooked Creek? Ya I've fished Crooked Creek a couple times. That's 15 pounds 11 ounces that got me first place!! I have never fished Kiski though. I am not talking about Burrel, I am talking about the pond across the road from the river down Edgecliff near lock 4. It is tough to fish, and during the summer is totally surrounded by poison ivy. The water is almost black. Here's a pic of me at Burrel.
  18. Will do Joe! I was down that way yesterday. I live in Plum so that part of the river is closest to home. I go down Edgecliff once in a while and fish down by the dam. You ever fish the pond down there? I have caught both LM and SM out of there, and have seen some big carp. The first time I fished it I didn't think it would have any fish in there. Until I felt that "tap tap"!
  19. simplejoe, Your exactly right! Good guess too!! I took that picture in the winter of 2006 while fishing near that point that juts out into the river.
  20. Anytime Russ! If anyone missed it, the episode with Ed should air sometime in March. I'll keep everyone posted. 8-)
  21. Ed flew to LA this past week to film in 2 sketches on MadTV. This vid is an update and some behind the scenes of his MadTV experience.
  22. Nice story. I have had a few situations where people try to pay me for helping them out. I wouldn't think of taking their money. The feeling you get on the inside is payment enough. The last time I helped this lady out, and she tried to pay me, I told her to pay it forward.
