  1. Honestly, you cant go wrong with any of them in the 100-200 range. Seems most companies have one or a few different models in that range and I personally would be happy with either one.
  2. I always prefer to hold in hand before purchasing any reel. I own the revo s and love it as well as a Revo mgx( amazing). I think you will like the sx, I don't think much about many product reviews mostly because majority of those bad reviews are people that don't know what the hell they are doing and/or don't care for their things enough for them to work properly. Just my 2 cents. Good luck on your decision and let us know what you think!
  3. Cant speak for the new white ones but the older versions are just amazing, I have a few of them. I cant explain enough how great those rods are. IMHO I think they should have kept that line and keep it running for a while because it was already ahead of the game when they first came out.
  4. Its any companies job whether its dicks, bps, gander or whoever, if the sale is over, they should have repriced/removed those sale items either that night or first thing the next morning. In reality its that managers ass, he should have realized that job should have been done by sunday morning and not thursday. Thats when you know that person should not be a manager.
  5. Clean, lube/oil it nice and lovingly, see how that goes as well as making sure the brakes are properly set. See how it works, does not solve issue, try new line with a bigger diameter. 6lb is thin for BCers, line could be digging and cause the line to not flow properly. Would help to know what rod your using too, if your using Heavy rod and trying to throw 1/8oz bait, probably not going to happen but not impossible. Any info that you can add for the us to help would be great. I love my PQ and would hate to see someone have this kind of trouble with theirs especially cause i never really hear anyone have issues with their pqs. GL!
  6. Unfortunately for us they are not obligated. But I understand what your saying and it definitely sucks, corporate America! Keep an eye out though cause I have a feeling they may do another sale like this or similar. GL!
  7. Sale was over 31, so sunday no sale, they should have taken care of those red tags right away but you can't bash a store because they are doing what any normal store would do if they forgot to remove clearance pricing. I've ran businesses and understand those situations.
  8. I will never try this brand, heard too much bad and its unfortunate because I try to give my own opinion/thoughts on different things but I cant get myself to go this route, nope!
  9. You could check out BPS during their spring sale, they will have the dark carbonlite rods for clearance and the new white ones starting at 89. Besides my crankin stick I own, the only BPS rods I would ever buy is carbonlite, amazing rods, 6'8" MXF would be perfect for these applications.
  10. I have tried various Abu products, I have a Villain 7'1" MH, amazing rod, reels are great too! Their rods are somewhat on the stiffer side but great sensitivity. The new Veritas 2.0 has a redesigned blank that is suppose to be alot stronger, I am interested in trying one someday.
  11. Wow, im in syracuse NY, I dont remember seeing any shimano "Combos" at the stores here, which kind of combo was this?
  12. I have both, obviously I love KVD better but Magic still works fine in my opinion, never gummed up any of my gear and as far as people saying magic breaks down your line? Not true, I tested this theory out with mono, fluoro and Yozuri, line for the entire season being fished hard and using reel magic, none of the lines I used it on caused my line to breakdown or weaken. That said, I sill like Kvd better, Reel magic is just a second choice/backup that I have laying around, also use it to clean lures/rods/reels etc...
  13. Syracuse, NY lol, Im surprised at myself that I did not buy it but there is 3 of them, all casting, 2 are 6'8"MXF and the 3rd is 6'10"MXF. They actually have more on another rack but they dont have the clearance price on them so im not sure if they are on clearance or not. If so, theres more options there.
  14. Lol, you think 100 is a good deal, Dicks sporting goods is selling them for 65!
  15. Go PQ, ive had one for about 4 years, going on 5 and its one of my most solid reels i own.
  16. I have no clue, if they would advertise they would sell so much more and make more room for new stuff!
  17. Im assuming Saturday is the last day so you should be fine. I saw all the signs last night when i was there and figured I would let you guys know since no one really mentioned it.
  18. Sale ends on the 31st guys, just a heads up!
  19. With some of those I go for 6'8"-7'2" MH/F, I like using 4/0-5/0 that is usually 1/8oz but will opt for 1/4 depending on the depth/conditions. Cane Thumpers work great and have caught some nice tanks on those and well as a couple others. GL!
  20. Please report back and let us know!!Was planning to make a trip to dicks but of course plans changed and I will have wait till tomorrow after work. Ganggreen, Dicks had this crazy sale about a month or so ago and I know someone reported that field and stream was not do the sale at that time. So if you had to pick one store, I would go for Dicks, more than likely they would over field and stream.
  21. I like the carbon fiber weave
  22. I do by feel as well but I like the idea from roadwarrior, might try something like that just to compare the settings that I do.
  23. I typically use 10-12 lb seaguar fluoro but last year my cousin let me try Yo-Zuri Hybrid 12lb and it worked great! Super strong line, I got a crankbait stuck this one day and i pulled it so hard, the hook snapped in half but the line was fine. This year I am going to try 10lb.
  24. So far I picked up a Shimano Crucial Casting and 2 BPS Carbonlite Spinning, I already have a casting bps carbonlite that has just been amazing so I found a deal on these and figured what the heck. I plan on getting a Shimano Curado I for the Crucial. Problem is, I still have that itch to buy another rod lol.
