  1. Does anyone know why its 139.99?
  2. Any more thoughts for others? Im in no rush to buy one but plan on making the purchase within the next month or so
  3. That will be perfect for those applications, as well as those line choices are fine, Braid, yo zuri(copoly) and mono. I actually have yo zuri 10lb on my jerkbait/topwater rod as well. GL this season!
  4. One thing i do before I clinch the line on my improved clinch knot is I straight make out with it, all slobbery with my spit, no friction for sure and knot ties easily, smooth and beautiful! lol its funny but its also true. Get it wet before you finish!
  5. improved clinch is my go to knot for almost everything except for braid and flippin hooks. Never had a problem with fluoro, yo zuri or mono.
  6. I saw this on Gander Mountain, 199.99 with chip and screen cover, same model. Does it come with everything you need including tranducer for downscan/2d sonar?
  7. Yea I hear ya, I was planning on getting the 4 hdi, with the DI/GPS, not that you really need a gps on a kayak but it can still be useful i guess, I figure if I have too, get something like the 3x dsi for the downscan imaging, then next year get something better with more options, again, im still debating, I seem to make decisions more harder than they really need to be but if it wasnt for this bathroom renovation, i would have already bought something better and probably already installed lol.
  8. Yes for a kayak, I originally wanted either a 4 or 5 but i think for this year maybe even next year ill just use something a little less expensive which is why im looking at this but not yet sure if i should go with this or something else.
  9. I am looking to get something this year, unfortunately im not going to be able to get a more high end model this year due to being in the middle of a bathroom renovation so I was thinking of maybe pullin the trigger on the new elite 3x dsi ff. I know its new so more than likely no one here has seen/used or know much about it but, what do you guys think about this model compared to others around the same price range?
  10. Me personally, I dont stick with one brand, although it looks cool and all when you have all the same rods/reels lined up on your rack or boat, I am not a biased person and just go with what interests me at the time. But to each his own!
  11. haha im not one of those people, i got it for 3.99 at dicks, only one they had.
  12. I got it at Dicks for 3.99, I refuse to buy hard to find baits for more money than retail. Actually, all the xcalibur in here is from dicks, on of my favs
  13. I bought a few things recently! By all means, this is not even everything, ive still been buying tackle every week and had other things that I forgot to put in this photo, but here is a good chunk lol.
  14. 10-12lb Yo Zuri, hands down dont even have to think about it
  15. Bluegill worked great for me in clear to lightly stained! Im trying different ones this year, cant wait!
  16. The best rod ive used(for me) so far as a frog rod is carbonlite 7'MHF, I could cast any frog a mile, walk the dog perfect, set the hook like I was in a contest for the hardest hook setter lol, all around was my perfect rod. I had to change it last year because I needed that rod to do something else, so because I already had a 7'1" MHF villain, I now use this as my frog rod, although it works well, I liked the carbonlite better(for frogs). I also double this rod as a heavy jig/punching rod since it has 50lb braid. I cant say anything about duckett because i have never used one, ive held them and felt great, but i have heard a few times that those duckett ghosts turn yellow over time? *** black would be another good rod as well. There is soooo many better rods now in the $100 range that its pretty hard to pick just one, good luck and let us know what you get and how you like it over time of use.
  17. I own a revo s, bought it last year, needed to get a reel for my topwater/jerkbait rod so I went with that. I have no issue throwing light baits on this reel, matter of fact I was casting 1/8-1/4 pretty far. Most of my poppers are very light, so i made sure i bought a rod that would help cast the light stuff. I have a revo mgx and of course thats an amazing reel, but the revo s is great too. GL on your decision.
  18. I have always been pretty good with many techniques but this year I plan on doing a bit more focus on flippin/punching. Not that im bad with it, just want to better myself. As of now my setup is an Abu Garcia Villian 7'1" MH/F, quantum code 7:1 with 50lb sufix braid. I was planning on purchasing a new reel but spent too much money on other gear, I bought that reel 5 years ago or so and some how its still beasting lol.
  19. I use the same rod for shaky/wacky, 6'8"MXF!
  20. I use to never use hybrids or fluoro coated lines, but last year my fluoro on my crankbait got real messed up so bad that I had to rip it all off, my cousin had yozuri 12lb clear so he let me spool up for the time being until i get new fluoro. Guess what, I left that line on for the rest of the season and this year I already bought the same line but 10lb instead for that same rod. Its so strong and the abuse i put that line through is unreal, I now love yo zuri!!
  21. I agree with you Sam, the passion and time Ike puts into bass fishing in general, all the things he does, time he puts into products that he designs or helps design, live stream shows that he does and just everything. I watch a lot of videos of various pros, talking about their products and bla bla bla but you know its just a bunch of you know what and just trying to sell their products, of course Ike is trying to sell/market his products too, but I feel like Ike actually tries, actually wants to help you and actually tries to make a bait that will be a game changer and a rod that will feel/handle etc like we all want a rod to do. Ill give it time for the Ike series rods but im sure I will eventually pick one up, they seem legit.
  22. I have the previous model, this will be its 5th season I believe, works great, in great shape still and have pulled in muskie and pike with this rod.
  23. My crankbait rod is the BPS crankin stick, this season will be its 5th year and still looks/feels/handles great. If the day ever comes where this rod breaks or whatever(hopefully never), that will be the day I try something different, and only because I like trying different things. BPS crank rod is great and I wouldnt trade it for anything! GL!
