  1. I was flats fishing in Cuba saltwater doing that and being stupid, and a great big Barracuda whacked my bait and nearly took the rod. I lost him though...
  2. X3 definitely my favorite too. The prop gets tangled a little bit more then standard buzzbaits though. Still great bait, and i like it a lot.
  3. My favorite lure would have to be an Arashi 5 squarebill by Storm in Hot blue Shad color.
  4. I was just at Bass Pro, and i was looking at a wall of fishing line, and i started thinking, when would you use 18lb over 17lb, 22lb over 20lb. Do the 1 or 2 extra lbs of strength really matter, or is it just a gimmick. Why not stick to 5lb, 10lb, 15lb, 20lb, etc. Give me your thoughts below!
  5. Love that rod, use 14 lb fluoro on it too.
  6. I agree that 832 is the best. Tough as nails and round. Also repels water.
  7. The premier is a good rod. All St. Croix rods are good rods. I have a 6`6`` Medium Premier for poppers and other small topwaters and cranks and i love it. I would definitely reccomend it and i think a MH would work well for plastic swimbaits.
  8. Lucky you! I have been wanting to get a Smoke but I am hearing mixed reviews.
  9. I catch big bass on the Rage series. My favorite is the Rage Toad. I have never used the Cut-R, but i will give it a try.
  10. I only use 832, its round, strong, repels water, and has thin diameter. I have all different kinds spooled on my reels. Their fluorocarbon sucks, but their braid is awesome.
  11. Check the guides for nicks, and change your line to Sunline Maxima, Yo-Zuri or Toray. They are more expensive, but it is worth it. Vanish is pretty bad... If you find a nick in a guide, go to a reputable tackle shop and get it repaced, or if your rod is still under warranty, you can send it to Wright and Mcgill and they will repair and replace it.
  12. Yup, return it. Shimano has good customer service. If its new enough they will repair it or replace it entirely.
  13. Epic jigs? I'm bad at this... but I would buy from a company called epic jigs just because of the name!
  14. I like my Mojo Bass 7 foot hvy/fast. I can walk a frog easily, and i can skip a frog way back under trees and docks. Great backbone too. Great rod for 110$.
  15. It doesnt matter WHERE he catches bass, it matters IF he can catch bass and HOW he can catch bass.
  16. What do you do when you see a bass following your bait? Just curious because it seems to happen to me a lot.
  17. maybe try posting in the "other species" forum. you might get some better answers there. I would reccomend using a 16th oz jighead with a small 1-3" plastic or piece of an earthworm, just jigging it on the bottom.
  18. That happened to me, but with a 25$ sinking swimbait.
  19. Bass eat jigs anywhere.
  20. Lizard, Wacky rig or Shaky Head with a finesse worm. I have also had good luck with a big squarebilled crankbait in those conditions, casting to visible cover. for plastics natural colors are the key, and for the crank, i like a bit of a brighter color.
  21. Looks like a Matzuo...
  22. The Mojo Bass cranking rods are great. You can get a 6`10``, a 7` or a 7`4``.
  23. The 1/2 oz Summer Craw Hack Attack is my favorite!!!
  24. I put mine on a Legend Tournament and i love it! I am hoping to get a couple more.
