  1. I've been doing this for many years and have had no problems at all. I use a MH rod and 40 lb power pro braid.
  2. My outings usually last between 4 and 8 hours
  3. Thanks for the info guys.
  4. For the mostly shallow ponds and lakes in my area my 4 would be and are..... Hollow body frog Jig with trailer Shallow crankbait T rigged any soft plastic weighted or not.
  5. For me it would be 40 lb power pro on the mh and 15 or 20 lb pp on the m. Leaders if used at all would vary depending on the type of fishing.
  6. X2. .... June , July and August we do well up here in NY.
  7. I really like netbaits standard size paca chunk. A few colors that would do well with that jig would be IMO . Brown, watermelon jelly, crawfish and PB & J. Hope this helps.
  8. Here on Long Island with our shallow lakes there's not much structure but plenty of cover. My two favs are laydowns and lily pads.
  9. Mine is top water (hollow body frog) and flipping heavy cover.
  10. I've been bass fishing for over 30 years and have never bought a single rod or reel that cost more than 100.00 bucks. Totally unnecessary IMO .
  11. My PB 6.3 lb was caught on a 1/4 oz war eagle flipping jig with a paca chunk trailer in a laydown. 4 fow.
  12. Will be going for the first time for a week in July with the wife and kids( 18 & 20 yr.old). Will be staying in a lakefront house in the Lexington area. Looking to do quite a bit of bass fishing. Seeking any info as for lake locations that might be more productive than others and what might be the hot lures at this time. Thanks guys for any and all info given.
  13. I'd take the few over 8 and go home feeling good!
  14. I've been using yellow power pro for years now, I love it . No bleeding problems . For even more visibility of line movement (watching) is to color half the line on the spool with a black marker, the slightest twitch of line , you'll see it move better.
  15. I fish spro , boo yah and live target they all work well IMO. I have the regular and popping versions which both work . Experiment and let the bass tell you which they prefer on a particular day.
  16. I blame their parents, if they are idiots most likely the parents are also. We need to exterminate these people from society imo I would stop fishing 100 ft before you, pass on the other side 100 ft and then start fishing again.
  17. the fishing is very good on the right lake. There are a lot of lakes on LI, a good number are shallow and weedy.... most of them are under 100 acres. No I have never fished in CT.
  18. Just say no!!!
  19. awesome...I can only dream of getting one that big up here.
  20. I fish from a boat and bring 3 to 6 rods.
  21. The hunt for my next PB. On my boat taking in nature and great weather. The peace and quiet of long islands small lakes (no gas motors on any).
  22. alot of ponds on the south shore are already wide open.
  23. I let the bass determine how long its going to fight, like wrb said.
