For the mostly shallow ponds and lakes in my area my 4 would be and are.....
Hollow body frog
Jig with trailer
Shallow crankbait
T rigged any soft plastic weighted or not.
I really like netbaits standard size paca chunk.
A few colors that would do well with that jig would be IMO .
Brown, watermelon jelly, crawfish and PB & J. Hope this helps.
Will be going for the first time for a week in July with the wife and kids( 18 & 20 yr.old).
Will be staying in a lakefront house in the Lexington area.
Looking to do quite a bit of bass fishing.
Seeking any info as for lake locations that might be more productive than others and what might be the hot lures at this time.
Thanks guys for any and all info given.
I've been using yellow power pro for years now, I love it . No bleeding problems .
For even more visibility of line movement (watching) is to color half the line on the spool with a black marker, the slightest twitch of line , you'll see it move better.
I fish spro , boo yah and live target they all work well IMO.
I have the regular and popping versions which both work .
Experiment and let the bass tell you which they prefer on a particular day.
I blame their parents, if they are idiots most likely the parents are also.
We need to exterminate these people from society imo
I would stop fishing 100 ft before you, pass on the other side 100 ft and then start fishing again.
the fishing is very good on the right lake. There are a lot of lakes on LI, a good number are shallow and weedy.... most of them are under 100 acres.
No I have never fished in CT.
