Wanted to be a pro baseball player, didn't work out. A friend was a union glazier and got me in 27 years ago. Only a few more to go before retirement, can't wait so I can do more fishing.
I don't know what a bass can or can't see, so I sometimes do use a floro leader but have not had a day where I said, wow that really made a difference.
I think with us anglers it's more mental than anything else.
I switched to 30 lb power pro ( no leader) this year, had my best year on the spinnerbait in over a decade, absolutely love it. Did use mono prior, you can forget that now.
As mentioned it'll come down to personal preference and I like to use rods in the 6 to 6'8 length with my favorite two being 6'6 in length. I fish off a boat and most of the other boat anglers I know do prefer longer length rods( over 6'8) but to each his own.
A disappointing day for me is under 10 bass, a decent day would be up to 20, and a good day being over 20 bass. The most I've caught in a day was 61.
I fish between 5 and 8 hours.
I don't keep much , I have a Plano over/under box and a double size binder for plastics.
I might use 20 percent of what I have on a fishing trip, and that's probably high.
I usually only buy new when I .....A. run out, B. lose, C. break any.
This is all I have and need and I've been bass fishing for over 30 years now.
