  1. Welcome aboard, enjoy the forums.
  2. I have the exact rod your looking at and I do recommend it. I bought mine on sale for 69 bucks ( home run) , even at 99 this is still well worth it IMO. It is light and sensitive as others have said. The grips are awesome ( my new favorite) and very comfortable for all day use. I use it mainly for jigs but have thrown spinnerbaits, buzz baits, and hollow body frogs with success. The lightest weight I've thrown with this rod is 3/8 and I think a true 3/16 oz lure would be to light to get any rod load.
  3. Hollow body frog Jig / craw Squarebill crank Any t/rig plastic Spinnerbait
  4. I don't care what size the bass are, 50+ bass in 2 1/2 weeks is not bad at all. Guys go that long without a single fish, so your doing well. Keep learning and tight lines.
  5. Congrats on the pb's , nice going.
  6. I also wouldn't trade it. I'm salivating looking at that. My fav cover.
  7. This is how I like to fish them also, spring, summer, fall.I usually add a tralior hook. I prefer a 3/8 oz with tandom blades (col-wil) being my first choice.
  8. Be careful who see you there, boats are prohibited. I've heard there are a few decent bass there.
  9. Thanks.My digital scale reads: 6.4 = 6ib 4 oz 6.1 = 6lb 1 oz 6.15 = 6 lb 15 oz 6.10 = 6 lb 10 oz You get the idea.
  10. Also called manuguense, I think your right.
  11. I like the owner twistlck and eagleclaw lazer hooks in 4/0 and 5/0 .....1/8 oz usually. Throw with mh/fast spinning setup, 20 lb braid with floro leader. What you list is great also.
  12. Thanks again gentleman for the comments.
  13. Yes it was a siebert dredge brush jig, ha ha. Thanks.
  14. Thanks for the comments guys,
  15. I use a 6'9" MH fast action rod with 15lb pline cxx. War eagle, pepper custom baits, and strike king are the brands I use, with the tandom blades (Colorado/willow) being my favorite. Favorite weights are 3/8 and 1/2 oz. I cast in and around cover, sparse pads, wood, docks, along side and above weed.
  16. A siebert 3/8 oz dredge brush jig in bluegill with a 3" pit boss trailer
  17. Nice bass and story, thanks for sharing it.
  18. Finally got out Saturday on my first trip this year. The catching was slow as I only got one in the boat but it did beat my previous PB buy one ounce, coming in at 6.4 lb. Threw just about everything I had, with this girl caught on a 3/8 jig with 3" pit boss trailer pitched to a laydown in 6 ft of water. Happy to have my first trip and first bass this year be this one. 6 lb 4 oz
  19. I've been thinking about just this for a long time. If you have your go to lure that always catches, shouldn't you all just start with it and fish it all day. Hmmm.
  20. Please post pics, thanks.
  21. Im not sure what my dream combo would be.
  22. Nice bass. Will be making my first trip this weekend, hopefully will land a couple of those.
