  1. Good for you, nice going!
  2. Pure bass catcher would be a 5" soft stick bait, pick a color. My favorite to fish would be a popping hollow belly frog.
  3. Rod: Abu Garcia Vendetta spinning 6'6" MH Reel: Lews Speed Spin 300 Line: Power Pro Hi Vis Yellow 30lb Lure: Netbait B Bug watermelon crawfish 4.3" Terminal Tackle: Owner Rig-N-Hook 4/0, 1/8 Tungsten Bullet Weight black LMB: 7.6lb Lily Pads 5' water
  4. I've been using the 5 3/8 stick-o exclusively for years now. It's been the only Brand and Size I buy. No need for me to keep trying other manufacturers as I might have done in Years past. I stock up when on sale, there are great bang for your buck and catch tons of bass, what else does anybody want?
  5. I haven't bought one. Nor do I plan on doing so.
  6. Same here.
  7. I've been using the H2O xpress ethos from academy sports the last two years, in the 7' heavy power, fast action. It's paired with a Lews tournament MB with 40 lb braid. It has worked out great for me, a pleasure to fish with and a great bang for your buck at $59. I bought it from hearing bluebasser always talking them up, and he's right.
  8. From another Long Islander, welcome and enjoy the forums!

  10. I Use the Owner Rig N Hook in the 4/0 size. I like the shape of the hook and when rigged the plastic helps protect the knot better, unlike traditional flipping hooks.

  12. I use 40lb braid in heavy weeds you describe. In more open/clear water I like sunline sniper flouro.
  13. Apparently these female squatches aren't as rare as one might think. I've just seen half a dozen of them at my local Wal-Mart this morning.
  14. I would recommend and really enjoy using my Lews tournament MB's.
  15. Why purchase green when you can have a hi vis line above the water for excellent line watching ability also to go along with feel. You can color the first 3, 6, 9 or whatever amount of feet you desire. My 50 year old eyes have trouble seeing the green as it lay on the surface, that is why I prefer the yellow. You can see that slight tick in your line so much easier. Even when I use a mono/fluoro leader ( which is not all that often) I still color the first few feet.
  16. Here's what I do and my reasoning. I've been using hi vis yellow braid exclusively for years, coloring the first 5 or 6 feet with a brown/and or dark green marker. For me I like having a more stealth like approach under water, while having excellent line watching ability above. IMHO purchasing green braid is useless.

  18. I'd opt for the 8 - $100 rods. There are a ton of good rods in the $100 range. I own Dobyns champion extremes retail $350 down to academy H2O xpress retail $60 and many in between there's not a lot of difference IMO. To me the Dobyns over priced and the H2O is a steal.
  19. Way to go, nice bass
  20. Looks good. If your happy with it that's all that matters. what are the overall dimensions of this one, thanks.
  21. I have not tried tatsu, but have tried others. The last few years I've been using sniper in 16 and 20 lb with NO line conditioner and am very pleased with it. No complaints.
  22. I have 2 MB's, a tournament pro, a pro Z, and a bb1. The MB's are the least expensive and my favorite of what I have.
  23. As many have said I will echo, get the 5 power.
  24. Welcome, enjoy the forums.
