  1. I'm going to counter this with my own tale of extreme luck swings all in a single day. I was back in a cove on a small local lake one day in my 2-man when a VERY attractive young woman came by on a paddle board. Topless. I tried not to stare. She gave me a big smile, asked me if I was catching anything, etc. She was totally at ease and completely Unembarrassed...lol. I sat there and felt guilty until I realized that I had done nothing wrong and said nothing inappropriate. An hour later I buried a rattletrap treble up to the hilt in my thumb with a 2 lb bass also still hooked. Had to load my boat with it still in and head off to the ER for that one.
  2. VMC Drop Dead. I would suggest 1/8 5/0. Light enough to easily keep them on top but heavy enough to SLOWLY sink in holes in a lily pad field or scum mat. All I use when fishing toads. The weight doesn't pick up debris either.
  3. and I wrote that about 5 years ago..lol. I don't know if they still recycle line. Been awhile since I was in one
  4. I go fishing, not picture taking. My phone isn't with me in the boat. I've never taken a photo of a fish
  5. Well....you do need to use some common sense...lol. The old guy ain't your best choice in this scenario
  6. I have developed what seems to be an almost fool-proof method of shopping in a big box store of any kind. If I NEED help, I find an employee (man or woman...makes no difference to me) that has AT LEAST as much gray hair as I do. They are preferably at least 50. I don't bother talking with young people anymore. I was in a Home Depot a while back and I asked a young person where something was and was told I could use the app. I told her, yes, it was true I could use the app but then why does the store need her? She didn't have much to say to that...lol
  7. You get ONE of them for what looks to be 10 bucks? Wow...lol. Pass
  8. I used to have all these plans and schemes if I ever got rich. Now, none of it means anything. I'm sure I'd build a house for the wife and I but it wouldn't be some opulent mansion. It would be all the things we would want and nothing we didn't. I'm sure I'd get a new truck and probably a boat but it wouldn't have to be the biggest and best. What I WOULD do? Have peace of mind that my wife and kids would be secure if anything happened to me. I'm comfortable and satisfied now. I guess I would be "comfortabler and satisfieder" with more money
  9. Senko Rage Craw Tube Pit Boss Culprit Fat Max
  10. I have and use both depending on what I'm doing at that moment in time. Am I supposed to be "phasing out" my spinning reels? Guess I didn't get the memo. I like my spinning set-ups for what I use them for and at 55, I don't really see that changing.
  11. All my rods do double duty with the exception of my Frog Rod.
  12. I normally throw frogs into HEAVY slop where walking the frog is a pointless exercise. Occasionally I will come onto a stretch of lily pads or grass or something that isn't ideal for a frog but also isn't ideal for a spook or other treble-hooked baits. In that case, I will throw a frog (usually a Pad Crasher) that I have cut the legs OFF of. Now you have a spastic morsel that will raise a ruckus and is pretty easy to walk. Pad Crashers are cheap and behave great like this. Try it!
  13. H&H. Less is more. $2.39 at TW right now
  14. No.....just no.
  15. I still got some of the OG Clear/White bags from Lord knows when...lol
  16. Lol. Here's a (translated) line from the text,,, "In addition, it is a bait reel that needs to be turned on when using it, and when the power is turned on, the start-up sound and LED will light up, creating a sense of exhilaration." I hate when my microwave beeps at me and I can barely remember to charge my phone. It's like this thing is perfectly designed to irritate me.
  17. Yep.....great color for me, too
  18. I haven't found much that these aren't good for...... Owner Finesse Ball Head. They also make a football head.
  19. I crush barbs. I don't think I've lost fish because of it.
  20. Hang on.....they have Auto High Beam now? I must be old, too. I don't want that or half the crap that vehicles do now. (says guy whose fishing truck is a 1968 F-100) BTW.....I'm on this forum because it's nice to be around people that are smarter than I am. Pure and simple....
  21. This last summer, I went fishing once. ONCE! The wife and I have started a small business and I also work full time. I had to turn an old rental house into a commercial kitchen over the summer and it required my full time attention. That SUCKED and it won't happen again. I started to get pretty squirrelly not being able to do any frogging.
  22. Missouri is awesome. We got everything from Truman, Table Rock and LOZ to 1 acre park ponds and they all have bass in them.
  23. I don't understand why this idea is contentious? Would I like an opportunity to chat with someone that has a higher skill level at something I LOVE to do? Sure. Would I like to BS with an old-timer like Bill Dance or Roland Martin? Sure. If Glenn happened to spotlight someone I didn't care for, is it necessary for me to be involved? Nope. I don't worship any of these people but I can and do admire their skill level or simply that they seem like neat people that would be fun to BS with. Good Lord....like them or not, would any us of turn down a chance to spend a day fishing with Bill Dance, Roland Martin, KVD, or even Iaconelli? I wouldn't.
  24. I haven't read through all the answers but I like the idea (especially in the winter months) of live "fire side chats". Sit down with these guys live and just open it up. If necessary, have a lottery sign up and pick BR members randomly to be able to sign in and just chat with these guys. Tell stories, ask questions, just BS with them. Record the whole thing and put it out when it's done. You can bet if you had Rojas or Ish, I'd sure as heck be asking frog questions. Probably even bribe to let me on!
