You know, that one with the water and the fish in it. Yeah, that one.

  1. Yes. When I fish really small streams for trout I often use a Panther Martin size 2 spinner. I will add a small splitshot for a couple reasons. They are killer when fishing these small streams but sometimes the water is moving too fast for me to keep then down in the current. The splitshot helps keep the lure down. I have done this for my son when he is using a inline spinner while fishing for bass. Also, the added weight aids in both casting distance, like you said, and accuracy. An incredibly light lure is hard for me to control. I have not found the weight to hurt the action of an inline spinner.
  2. Pop-R and a Yum Cristie Craw.
  3. I caught my fist LMB on a Baitfish colored Super Fluke.
  4. When I read your title, my first thought was Fluke. I have had great luck with Super Flukes of all colors. In fact last week when the bite was really tough for me, I caught LMB, hybrids and Crappie on a baitfish colored Super Fluke. The three colors I tend toward: White Ice, Baitfish, and Watermelon all seem to work equally well.
  5. I edited my post but would still like to know how/when you guys like to use these.
  6. I just bought a couple of 1/2 oz Strike King Knuckleheads. I have never used a swinging jig head. I've read that some people fish them like a crankbait off the bottom and others use them more like a regular football head jig. When and how do you like to use them? Edit: Upon further research, this is basically a Biffle Head or Seibert Sway Jig.
  7. 2. One M/M spinning and one MH/F casting. With these two I can cover the majority of techniques that I commonly use from shore.
  8. From what I have gathered in here, the hybrids are a schooling fish and prefer a fast moving lure vs a slow finesse lure. Is that correct?
  9. I've had good luck with All Star from Academy. YMMV
  10. I only have one casting set up. It is a 6'6" MH/F rod with a BPS Pro Qualifier reel. I use it for everything but finesse work and heavy duty punching. In short, I think it will do whatever you want it to do.
  11. Yep, you guys are right. They are hybrids. My mistake.
  12. Aaron's Magic
  13. Last year the small private lake I primarily fish was stocked with some striped bass. How is the approach for striped bass different than large mouth bass? Is it different? Edit: I think they are hybrids. Thanks, to those of you who pointed about my mistake.
  14. Aaron's Magic is my favored color as well. It just flat out works.
