  2. UPDATE: We contacted him and talked to him on the phone for quite a while about it. Drove up to see it and test drive it the next day and the boat was in immaculate condition for the age. The boat has been kept in a garage since the day it was bought new and you can tell. We bought it and have taken it out twice already with no issues. Thanks for the replies everyone
  3. My dad and I are looking to upgrade from our early 90s bass tracker to a decent fiberglass in the 7-12k range. We found this Stratos on CL and it looks to be in really nice shape and a good price. Are there any concerns we should be worried about with this boat? It's about 4 hours away so if we aren't looking to make multiple trips to get it checked or anything. Thanks guys http://atlanta.craigslist.org/sat/boa/5035744753.html
  4. Thanks for the replies everyone. We actually have a Boston Whaler we are trying to sell right now and then we are going to get a bass boat with the money from that. The boat is priced at $14,995 so that's why I was looking in the 10-15k range. There are a few local ones but nothing that has really caught our eye yet. I feel like more people will be selling once it starts to warm up a bit more.
  5. Does anyone have any good recommendations on bass boats in the the 10-15k range? I would like fiberglass over aluminum but I am open to opinions. It would be used in North FL and South GA with some local tournament fishing. I guess what I am asking is, is it better to get an older fiberglass or a newer aluminum? Also any specific makes I should look for or avoid? Thanks guys

After tearing them up the week before, the bass were no where to be found today. Still managed 5th place but could have taken home 1st with last week's numbers.

  11. Like the others are saying, you have to make sure you wait a few seconds before setting the hook. This took me a long time to train myself to not pull it right out of their mouths as soon as you feel a bite. I have the most success pulling the rod directly upwards with everything I have. I always taught to set the hook like its a world record bass on the other end. You do have to be careful though, watching your bait come flying right back at you with the hook out isn't the greatest feeling!
  12. To finally land that lunker! My PB is around 7-8 and I would really love to finally catch that wallhanger. I've netted a total of about 5 bass 8lbs+ while fishing with friends and family so my time has to be soon right??
  13. Hey Guys, I live in north FL and have been having success catching bass, but not quality ones. Let me preface this by saying the lake is fairly small (7.5 miles long and its area is 6.2 sq miles), full of vegetation, and is mostly shallow. Last Friday I went out and caught 12 but none larger than 2 lbs. I caught them on a watermelon seed fluke and a watermelon seed speed worm with a 1/4 oz bullet weight. They usually hit it either on the fall or within a few seconds of reeling it in. I have a tournament there this Sunday and I know 5 fish 10 lbs is not going to cut it. Should I just start trying to use larger baits? Any advice would be appreciated! I can add more details if needed. Thanks!
