  1. Travis, I just checked the WVDNR website and it's saying they are keeping the lake at 5 feet below winter pool and the lake is inoperable until April 1. Who is holding a tournament there on Saturday? You may want to call the lake number for the lake to see if it is even accessible because they are showing it still 5 foot below normal winter pool as of this morning on the website. The number is 304-849-9861.
  2. The water level was down to critical levels about a week ago. They are working on replacing the bridge by the campground and it was the lowest I have seen in years. Last week you couldn't get a boat in the water. I imagine the fishing will be restricted to deeper main lake fishing unless they have raised it in the past week.
  3. I just bought a 7'H/MF rod for Jig fishing that's rated for 1/4 - 1 ounce and had a few questions. First, I am looking for a reel that will probably throw 3/8 - 1/2 ounce most of the time, but may throw 3/16 and 1/8 if needed. I was looking at the Shimano Core 50 for the lighter weight to be able to flip and pitch it better. Should I go for the 100 or the 50? Or is there other reels you would recommend. Also, what line should I put on it? I will mostly be jig fishing rock and timber, but some grass from time to time. Should I do straight braid, or back it with braid and put FC leader? What pound and brand line would you suggest? I am looking to get into jig fishing, and wanted a dedicated setup for it.
  4. I was in the local walmart last night and they had the Falcon Bucoo Micro BC for $65 as well as the whole lineup. They are going to stop carrying them and have them marked down for clearance. Is this a deal one should jump on? I know they are almost weightless in your hand it seems, but do they hold up? They had a pitchin' stick 6'10 MH and a 6'10H as well as a 6'6M. Has anyone fished these?
