  1. jackhammer chatter bait 1/2 ounce kinky beaver 5/16 pegged tungsten weight maybe a shakeyhead with a green pumpkin trick worm if things were tough
  2. Usually in an 8 hour day if I don't catch 15 then it was a terrible day unless I catch say 5-10 and there are some really quality fish mixed in. I can't remember the time I was just flat out skunked. I've had a few days this year where I may have only caught 5-6 but it was 35 degrees with the wind blowing 20 mph
  3. I meant I'd save the money and get the cheaper one of the 3. If all you'll ever throw on it is a frog then it'll be fine.
  4. The solution here is to buy a new boat with a bigger rod locker lol
  5. I'd rather wear sun screen than have to wear one of those stupid things
  6. I think they are about the dumbest dang thing I've ever seen
  7. I'd cross his eyes. When you are flipping in thick grass the fish are within feet of the boat. But that's using heavy braid and a stout hook. As lone as you've got good line and good knots I'dput the steel to him
  8. H20 express ethos rods. Best bang for your buck in the fishing game. They only cost 59.99. They are like a sore goober you can't beat it
  9. Academy h20 express ethos 7'6 for 59.99. Maybe not the best but it'll serve you well. It's really more of a heavy than a medium heavy. I really like the original scum frog. It's an older style bait and isn't as flashy as the new ones but it flat catches fish
  10. If you've got an academy close by gran and h20 express mettle and one of there ethos rods. Your looking at 120 with room left to buy another rod or reel. I've used a lot of different rods and reels over the years and these have became my favorite. I've broken two of the rods in the last I guess 4-5 years and they were completely 100% my fault academy still replaced them
  11. The war eagle spinner baits are a good choice. I'd add in a bigger frog I prefer the scum popping frogs. Grab a couple 3/8 war eagle finesse jigs, net bait swim jig, zoom ultravibe speed craw, reaction innovation kinky beaver, zoom ol monster worms, zoom flukes, assorted hooks in all sizes, I really prefer the standard offset hook for a worm or craw. I'd go with a natural color like green pumpkin or water melon for clear water and black for stained water. For the flukes I'd want something visible like white or chartreuse. The ultravibe doubles as a jig or chatter bait trailer so I'd want some of those in white or pearl. Lastly and most importantly I'd have to have some jj's magic dye in chartreuse
  12. 4/0 hook or no 4 hook? I like a 3/8 ounce jig. I rarely fish water over 20 foot deep. And deep that 20 I'm probably going to throw a 1/2 or 3/4
  13. A guy I fished with finished 15th in a 100 boat tournament and now he thinks he is kvd jr.
  14. About like that spot except it was only 12 or 13 ounces
  15. Never had any I just get all my stuff laid out and my drinks and snack ready to go. May stop by academy and grab a couple of extra bags of what ever plastics I plan on throwing
  16. How big was that fish jbab
  17. 11-12 inch spot on a 6 inch bull shad 10 inch spot 1 ounce rattle trap
  18. Are you dragging your tackle box behind the truck?
  19. You're creating a problem where there isn't one
  20. If you have an academy sports in your area you will not go wrong with the h20 express mettle reel. I've sold most of my higher end baitcasters and went to these reels
  21. Not all bass go deep either. Especially in shallower bodies of water. Every year I catch bass flipping in a couple feet of water when the water temp in in the 90's. I think it's mainly because the creeks are so shallow there is more oxygen up shallow around the grass mats
  22. JJ's magic is the real deal
  23. Probably so. You could bend it if you wanted but I feel like the rotation of the blade plays a big part in the direction that the bait moves. Those war eagle buzzbaits have a big blade compared to some other buzzbaits
  24. Like I said on the other post the zoom ultravibe speed craw is the only trailer I throw on any type of jig. They are affordable and just flat out catch fish. I like some of the rage stuff but I refuse to spend that kind of money on them
