Plan on seeing a buddy in Minneapolis for several days of bass fishing in the next month or 2. Any recommendations on lakes. I'll probably fish for a few days by myself then take him for 2-3 days. I know Minnetonka is supposed to be great but will the boat traffic be crazy???I have an 18' bass boat so I'm looking for lakes with ramps. Thanks for any info. Been trying to get up there for the last few years after a visit without a boat.

Jerkbait and spoon was the only other baits I had out. Dropped a spoon whenever I saw them on my graph. Guys throw a grubb down there a ton. Also wart will be commin back if not already on windy banks. Locals also throw spinnerbaits slow rolled. If you catch one or get bit back the boat off and work the hell out af that area. I'm working the a rig slow because they are down pretty deep in those areas. They are pushing the bait instead of really nailing it. You just lose contact with the bait. For every 1 I caught I missed at least that many. They could easily move up shallower if there's wind or just the warming trend goin on. 70 this weekend. Drop ur trolling motor about 2 long casts from bank and work ur way in. Don't just start at the timber u see. Rig ur a rig weedless with the one in the middle exposed. Bring lots of baits. I'm telling ya that lake is going to go fn nuts. Good timing on ur part. If ur gonna be in a different area of lake post a ? On ozarkanglers.com They are very helpful.

Fished there 10 days of the last 3 weeks. Just got back tonight. Kept lookin in my rear view mirror the whole way. 2 fish just over 7 lbs, 5.7lbs 4lb, smallie almost 3 lbs and tons of 2-2/12 lbs. Lost an absolute monster today...got me wrapped up in a cedar. Couldn't turn her. A-rig. I fish from she'll knobb bridge up the white about a mile and down the lake to big creek. They are moving up but still sittin in 15-20 ft. Deep. Have your boat in about 35-45 feet. Fish points into pockets and points entering into creek arms. Also secondary points. If the deep water hugs in close in a certain area and there is timber that's where they will be.pay attention to where the channel is. Pole timber is better than heavy cedars. Fish the a rig sloooooooooooow. Water temp was 43 today. They may be shallower by end of week with warm weather. Ass crack it. It's supposed to be sunny and the best bite is before noon. Don't pick up the ned rig unless you get desperate. Check out webboutdoors for last tournament info. Big weights without the a rig. I was talking to a buddy on the phone telling him to forget hunting and come fishing. I had my lure in the water with about 4' of line in the water drifting over the grass patches with the wind not payin attention and I caught a 16"er. They aren't going anywhere. Once they move in the grass like that they will be there for awhile. Never saw a single boat fishin that cover for three days. Not sayin they weren't killing them too on the riprap but it was hard to leave those fish. Lakes down about 3-4 foot.

Go to Coffey county between, sat. Sun, and Today caught around 80 smallmouth combined by myself. Vast majority were between 14-16 inches. Counted 7 that were 17-17/12. No pigs but there in there. Caught some nice blacks too. Probably 6 boats on lake at all times. I fished from 7:30 -230. There in the grass. Wind is a big help. Once it got dead calm and high sky's today it got tough. Coffey county is a Catching lake not a fishin lake. Guys are catching fish on the riprap too. Had them trying to take the bait out of another's mouth as I was bringing it in. Haven't seen that since winter fishin on table rock with the a-rig.
