Hey everyone, I have a question. I am looking into purchasing a 2005 Ranger Z20 with a 2009 Mercury ProXS 250. The problem is, the z20 model is only rated for a 225hp motor. They guy I'm buying from says that's only because they didn't make the 250 in 2005, and the US Coast Guard will override the max horsepower rating on the boat. Can anyone tell me if this is legit? Hey everybody, I have a problem. I am a tournament angler and the trail I fish with travels a pretty good distance, so I bought myself an ARE cap to make life easier. When my partner is with me, launching is no big deal, I just unhook the boat and he jumps in and I back in the water. However, I do a lot of practicing by myself and I can't figure out how to launch my boat with out getting my feet wet or wearing rubber boots. I used to climb in the bed of the truck but now that's out of the question.. I know someone out there has to have some experience with this. Is there any easy way to launch with a truck cap?

When you are looking for your first bass boat it is important that you find one that is preferably light, easy to drive, and simple to fish out of. I can usually fill up the tank in my G3 for around $50 or so. I run a 90hp Yamaha 2-stroke on my Eagle 170, and that's a bigger motor than most aluminum boats have, but G3s are made to handle it. If you are looking for a great started boat you need to go with an aluminum rig. They're light, easy to learn to drive, and fairly inexpensive when compared to the price of a glass boat. Plus you don't lose any fishability out of them. I've got a G3 Eagle and I love it. I can catch the same fish as the guys in the 21ft boats without the price of gas slowing me down. You can buy a used one at a reasonable price and they hold their value pretty good. Check em out. You won't be disappointed.

I fish from a 2008 G3 Eagle 170 coupled with a Yamaha 90hp 2-stroke. I've had it for almost 2 years and I love it. Its lightweight but it handles well and the 90hp pushes it just fine and gets pretty good fuel economy.

Do any of you East Tennessee guys know of any local 15-30 boat tournaments? Or maybe any local team trails that fish Douglas Lake or Cherokee lake pretty regularly?

Hey guys, My family is taking a vacation to Myrtle beach this year, and while I do the beach, its just too long to be away from fishing. Everyone says to go try deep sea fishing, and that would probably be pretty fun but its just not my idea of a good time. Do you Carolina boys know a lake within close driving distance to Myrtle beach where someone could rent a bass boat for a day or two?

I live in East Tennessee and have fished Lake Cherokee my whole life, but lately it has been getting tougher and tougher to catch quality fish. I've heard the air is bad and the water is stagnant and a few other excuses from people who are also having a hard time catching any sizable bass. But long story short, I'm learning to fish Douglas Lake a little bit at a time. I know they fish BASS tournaments down there and some people pull out some real lunkers. I was wondering if any of you local guys on here had any tips for a guy just starting out on a new lake in early summer? What areas produce better? Some good baits for finding fish? Where they like to school up at? Any information would help, or do y'all know where I could find a pretty reliable fishing report?

The fish on Douglas have already moved off the bed and out onto points. Caught bigger ones fishing ledges and points on main channel swings using medium diving crank baits.
