  1. Yes you can add lat Lon to mark spots.
  2. You can report that to help@navionics.com and they will look into the zooming issues and see if something has happened or needs fixed.
  3. I would do option 1 for the following reasons: one the lss2 transducer will give you the downscan that the hdi transducer has and replace it with the 83/200 one to give you a two frequency broadband option. Doing that will make your elite 5x resell for more. And with that money you can either upgrade your touch units cartography to something like the Navionics + with sonarchart or the go free wifi module or just off set some of the upgrad cost.
  4. I have used the hydrowave H2 and it's a pretty sweet deal also the new added sounds are a bonus. I have had pike go eye to eye with the sound speaker while fishing the allegheny river in Pittsburgh.
  5. They is bass pro shops nitro dealer I don't run nitro anymore had too many problems I now run ranger but I agree it was stupid configuration
  6. The treated the two batteries as one and put the terminals of the charger on the positive and negative going to the trolling motor
  7. What they did to my boat was treat the two batteries in the 24v trolling motor as 1 so one bank was charging 2 batteries and one bank was only charging my starter.
  8. This is on a smartphone or tablet using the fish options in the menu but you can view all the updates in lowrance and the community edits and what not
  9. Wayne that is a great idea and use for that that I haven't thought about. Usually I just use it for trolling but now have a new use
  10. For the money the lowrance screen is going to be clear but you can also get a wifi one that works on you smartphone if you go with a vexilar you can get the Navionics boating app and actually sync the wifi ducer with the app and get a fish finder sonar for around the same amount of money
  11. Yeah once downloaded on the card it should be able to read it no matter which area you are from just make sure that the unit is set to read the SD card.
  12. Its the best app to have it make fishing much easier and it is nice to use it if you are Ice fishing or going from boat to boat.
  13. If you go online and email the help email and tell them which ones you want changed they can do it for you
  14. The lowrance chirp and regular broadband sonar should work great in shallower water and in the 10 foot range.... You might have to tweek some settings to get the best overall appearance depending on the type of water you are in.
  15. I personally have never really used it for either of those but it does show a great bit of detail and if that's what you are looking to read I would upgrade it because it does show it well.
  16. I shoot my transducer through the hull and have no problem with it... If you have a jackplate I would mount that on the plate.
  17. Both units will do the same thing... It all depends on which screen size you want. They both use the same transducer and Lowrance offers many different options to use them in a kayak such as the scupper hole mounting system and a carry pack which will include a mobile battery and plug in charging system so you can turn the unit into a mobile unit.
  18. I agree with wayne... I use the three Navionics apps that he does as well. I use the Navionics Boating HD on my ipad, Navionics Boating with the USA and Canada on my IPhone, and the Navionics Boating app on the Android Tablet. I like them boat I have purchased all the options such as auto routing, and the fishing mode option. The maps update frequently with the SonarCharts layer which will get more and more accurate as time progresses.
  19. Just make sure when you get the chip in to update it online and in the unit turn on fish n chip to get the sonarcharts
  20. It gives you sonarcharts and updates for a year. It really makes the lake maps more detailed!
  21. The chirp unit will have better target/ fish separation on the regular broadband screen.... Both come with an HDI transducer.... The chirp ones also have a better processor and a bit better graphics... If you can get a Navionics + bundle that would be worth looking into for the sonarchart layer
  22. If you like the app and want the sonarcharts for you gps and own another chart chip you can use other brands like C MAP, Insight genesis, etc to unlock the update chip saving you 100 bucks.
  23. If you haven't add a ram mount and you can position it better than just using the gimbal mount
  24. You might get better picture by putting on a dual frequency transducer or the new chirp ones... They are awesome
  25. If you have a wifi unit or the vexilar sonar box try the sonarcharts live! It is an awesome feature that will update the chart instantly in the app or in some cases start creating a contour on lakes that are previously uncharted.
