Buddy Gross is crossing over from FLW to BASS this year

If I lived closer I would definitely consider it. But all three of those lakes are a bit of a haul for me.

For all the Central Texas Anglers on here: I am currently looking for a boater to pair up with for the upcoming season starting in January. Whether you would want to fish both or just one of the trails, either way works for me. I'd normally fish with my dad, but his schedule can be hectic and it is not ensured that we would be able to compete in all the events. While I don't disagree, there is a big distinction between the pros who are promoting their sponsors in order to make a living and kids who fish stock ponds posting pictures with a fish in one hand and a package of Googan baits in the other as if it gives them some sort of cred

The Googans are starting to do to fishing what Nike and other major shoe brands have done to basketball... You go to play a pickup game of basketball and you got these little kids wearing these fancy overpriced shoes. Then they judge you because your shoe game isn't as good theirs, even though your skills when it comes to actually playing the game are just as good. Its all about the swag and repping the name brand stuff. It's all about the looks and having the logo or the name. Yes, this has been going on in the fishing industry already. Ex- Daiwa/Shimano, Chevy/Ford and super proud Ranger owners to name a few. But with the youngsters, it is being taken to a whole nother level with this Googan stuff. At one of my last ever high school tournaments, despite only been fishing for about a year, hadn't made any top finishes, or won anything meaningful, this young teenage kid was trying to talk trash to me because he apparently owns every single Googan bait on the market. And in his mind, that makes him a superior angler to everyone else because he has paid for all these baits and is a major Googan fan boy. There are a lot more kids just like this on Insta and Snapchat that think they are the hot stuff because they caught a 4 lber at a farm pond on a Googan bait. It is really getting out of hand. And it is kind of unfortunate because the lures themselves don't look bad, but the name is making people go crazy. Oh yeah, when I got the point where I just couldn't ignore the kid anymore, to shut him up I just showed him the picture of me holding up the AOY trophy that I won from the year prior and walked off.

I have little tolerance for stupidity and that is what the Googans seem to thrive on. But hey, if that is what gets them more views, then good for them. Personally, I only watch TRF and Scott Martin. Mainly because they are tournament anglers and Scott's day in the life videos of a touring pro are right up my alley.

Falcon treated us pretty good this weekend: Day 1 9.1 lber on a 6XD 25 inches long and 17.5 was the girth! Day 2 was pretty tough, nothing worth taking a picture over. Day 3 gave us a couple of studs!

I despise the wind; but it's something that can't be controlled. So it doesn't get to me as much as it used to. However, jerks that pull up, and start fishin 15 yrds in front of me, and cut me off.....

Had a blast at the game tonight and my boys had an impressive win. Just hope I didn't witness the last play of Tony Parker's career...

Lucky enough to get tickets to tomorrow nights game in SA... Just hope my Spurs can figure something out and at least have some fight in em. If not, it'll be an early exit.

A weigh-in bag that has handles usually works the best. Just put the fish in the bag, and slide scale hook underneath the handles.
