  1. Some really good deals right now for those of you who have one close. All Rapala Lures 3.98, 20% off all of their sporting good clearance items except guns. Ended up getting some serious soft plastics and crank baits etc for 1.00 a piece. Great deals on reels. 150.00 reels marked down to 60.00 plus 20% off that. I picked up a handful of new ones. Trust me you'll find something you cant live with out. Plus a lot of mail in rebate deals on Sebile, Berkley, etc Actually after mail in rebate I will be getting paid to buy some of my items (if they ever come in haha)
  2. I was fishing in those exact same conditions this year and got my first pike over 3 ft, and a 5 lb LMB. Granted I fished 10-15 days in those conditions with no luck but that one day having a few nice fish made it all worth it (using a spinner bait PBJ color from Sieberts). Could also change up what you're fishing for. When I couldn't get a bass to bite I went down low and caught some cats, and if you're really bored break out the heavy gear and find a school of carp. 99% of my tackle box and gear is meant for bass fishing but sometimes when bass fishing isn't working for you it's time to catch something. Heck I even have a few fishing spots (ponds) where the kids always catch around 50-100 panfish mixed with baby lmb, stocked rainbow/brook trout etc so I will fish deep and hope to catch the parents while I watch them reel in a ton of fish and that to me is just as fun as reeling in a 7 lb hawg.
  3. Ha I think I found that same tree a few weeks ago. Trying to mauever my line in a nice pool but only had about a 3 ft hole. Sent that d**n 1/2 oz football jig back at me at lightning speed. Left a nice welt on my right shoulder.
  4. If it wasn't for Mike I'd have almost no fish this year so far. To be honest I knew little about jig fishing I just asked this same question before I ordered. If you look up my post there is a ton of good advice from other members there and you can see what I ordered. If you look at the Spinnerbait I got I would highly reccomend adding a few of those as well. It's been my number one weapon this year. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/134027-siebert-outdoorwhat-makes-them-so-good/?hl=sieberts#entry1489519
  5. Thanks! First I've ever caught in this spot. It's usually all LMB. Unfortunately I was a little more concerned about the lines etc to sit back and realize it was my first for that spot of the lake and my PB for the entire North end of the lake in General for a smallie. South end has some real hot spots post spawn for smb.
  6. Also on a lighter note even more props to Mike at Sieberts. My family is getting so mad that I'm catching with a spinner bait that I won't let them use I am placing another order with Mike and they all want me to order them the same one, the wife and kids all gave me 5.00 each to order them one. Normally I wouldn't take the money BUT I like having my secret weapon so they have to pay to get in on it :-p We have a "Team Mom" vs "Team Dad" competition going on and I'm way ahead. Losing team gives the winning time 20.00 each for items at BPS.
  7. Especially when you throw a pole with a bobber in a spillway current while fishing your other pole so your bobber keeps drifting to my side. I have no problem splitting a spillway if you stay on one side but dont think you and 2-3 other friends can just start tossing in everywhere. Amy even pulled her line out of the water b/c she couldnt find a spot to cast. I told her screw that cast over them with one of my cheaper spinner baits and snag them all lol she wouldn't do it.
  8. Yea that's a 1/2 mile + bank. Sure I was fishing where the spillway comes in because it is a hot spot but still disrespectful. And the other side has a small pond/lake with another mile of open shore and ton of stocked fish.
  9. Those arent the price or the exact motors. Those are just examples of what I'm looking at. They want 175.00 for both. Those were just two on ebay I found of what he's selling.
  10. Sitting at a boat launch in Florida on a gorgeous day in the evening watched about twenty successful retrieves. Then this one guy tries pulling an almost 40 ft boat out with his f150 when the ramp was soaked. So a guy in his Silverado offers to pull both the f150 and boat out of the water and he too gets pulled back by the weight of the boat and slippery algae ramp. So finally a full size dodge pulls them all out and is smart enough to hook up with enough room between the Chevy and the wet cement so he actually started out where it was nice and dry... Now id only the Chevy had thought of that. I'm a ford man and it was a sad day for me. But hopefully that guy went out and got a 250-350-450... Anything but a 150 for that monster of an ocean boat. Just total ignorance. The best part was the guy in the dodges wife took 5000 pictures so you know that guys still bragging about his dodge 10 years later.
  11. Jokes or not if it gets to the point of everytime I get a fish catching their lines I very well may try some of these. Especially those who dont do a quick retrieve and just slowly let their bobber drift in my way.
  12. lmao I got a good laugh out of that one blue
  13. That is all I have caught on this year so far is Mikes spinners/jigs.
  14. This was after I cut most of the line. Only the fish was still hooked at this point. I didn't want the fish out too long still hooked so I got a quick picture and unhooked him from my hook, and the other fishermans line that was wedged in his gill and around the tail. Should have seen the mess he came up with though originally. Probably cut 20 yards of line total. Also those with really good eyes can also see a 2nd (of 3 lines) hooked around my line and down over my sweat shirt.
  15. Still can't post pics with the windows phone. Wish this would get fixed. Guess I'll try sending them to my email and try to load them on from the laptop. I think this is a classic picture of fisherman with no respect. It killed me that one was in his late 30's and had 2 younger kids with him. Before I take my kids out they know all the rules, respect of the sport and our surrounding area. From how far apart to fish, to picking up trash that isn't even ours. Even if you have bad habits you shouldn't pass them on.
