  1. I've been looking at that dumb forecast for the past month and nothing looks good! I'm supposed to fish Patoka on the 16th and West Boggs on the 29th and I don't have a lot of faith in either despite their southern Indiana locations. I see may a tournament and trips being pushed back this year. Check out accuweather.com it's been very accurate and goes out 45 days. Tight lines!
  2. Not sure if you found it yet but the forum on FLW has tons of boaters looking for co's all the time. If you have a boater link you will for sure fish even if you register on the last day. Bfl rarely has a full field. Good luck and tight lines!
  3. My wife and I will almost always use different approaches. More times than not it's a small change. We change color and depth until the fish are found and that when we will usually use the same and saturate an area. Fish your strengths first and always!!!
  4. I use a wacky rig all year and it can be deadly on bass. Around the Hoosier state most fish are going to be in the deeper stages of "pre spawn" and a weightless wacky rig may not be the best choice. I like to drag a jig and pig very slowly to tempt those deep bruisers into my boat. Keep that wacky rig tied on because once those fish start to move up.....that rig can be lights out!!! Be sure you throw that on spinning tackle too with line matched to where and to what your casting to. So you've got lure, hook, line and pole that should do it. Good luck and pray for those 50's!!!
  5. BFL is a good starting point. I would suggest finding some team trails first. Take the wife along and learn to compete in a tournament setting. You will find that it is way different than recreational and the competition is surprisingly really tough since your fishing against locals that know the lake very well. If your wife likes to fish she can be your partner and if she likes it...... Well lets just say it makes getting permission to fish a whole lot easier!! Good luck and thank you for your service to our country!!
