  3. 14lb Steelhead on 6 pound main line with 4 pound leader. Caught in the Salmon River in Pulaski NY. Also got a 13lb and a 12lb that day. My buddy got a 12lb and a 10lb that day and a 17lb on the same setup next time out. Dave

  6. Oops, I missed the fact that you were looking for white ones. Sorry. Dave
  7. Are these what you're looking for? http://www.another site.com/StrikeKing/Strike-King-Bleeding-Bait-Tubes.cfm http://www.amazon.com/Strike-King-Bleeding-Pro-Model-Chartreuse/dp/B003ZZ91JI http://www.overstockbait.com/Strike-King-Pro-Model-Bleeding-Tube-p/bbpmt35.htm I've never used them but I might give them a try. Dave
  8. One that met my expectations was the Lucky Craft Pointer 100. Bought them for the first time in January 2012. Couldn't wait to try them. They did not disappoint. I've caught my biggest bass on them the last 2 years and I can't wait to fish them again this year. Dave

    Red Hooks

I saw a video with Randy Howell where he was talking about lipless crankbaits. He said he always changes the belly hook to red and that's where he hooks bass most of the time. He said that if you don't believe it, try switching the belly hook on your lipless cranks to red and you'll see that the bass are hooked on the red belly hook most of the time. Then switch the red hook to the tail position and you'll see that the bass are hooked on the tail hook most of the time. I've never tried it so I don't know if it's true or not. I just thought I'd put it out there to see if anyone ever tried it and if so, what the results were. Dave
  10. According to the flyer, you would get $15.00 off. Dave
  11. Also, Johnny Morris Signature Series rods are on sale for $109.97 and reels for $139.97. Dave
  12. Yes the Carbonlites are in the flyer and you can use the trade-in on them. Forgot to add, they are $89.97 in the flyer. Dave
  13. Welcome aboard. Dave
  14. It varies depending on how long I'm going to be out. If it's just for a few hours I just bring water and maybe a granola bar. If I'm going to be out all day I bring any combination of the following. Sandwiches - PB&J and maybe a turkey sandwich or a hoagie. Peanut butter crackers Trail mix Granola bars Chips or cookies Diet Coke Water Gatorade Dave
  15. I agree. Unless it's actually snowing outside, it's always a good day for grilling. I've been known to grill in the garage on rainy days. I just open the door and put the grill just inside far enough to not get wet. Dave
  16. Organizing tackle, sharpening knives, boat/trailer maintenance, buying new lures, wishing it was Spring already. Trying to fight off the bait monkey and losing. Dave
  17. I don't have any but they look alot like a Zoom Brush Hog to me. I do well with Brush Hogs Texas rigged, flipped or pitched into cover and even dragged along the bottom. I have a friend who uses them on a Caroling rig. I think the YUMphibian would work well for these techniques too. Dave
  18. I keep an equipment bag in my boat that has gore-tex pants and jacket, a towel, bug spray, sunscreen, extra sunglasses and an extra hat. I always keep an extra jacket, sweatshirt, sweatpants and hoodie in my truck. I usually throw an extra pair of shoes and socks in the truck depending on if it's hot or cold out. Boots if it's cold, sandals if it's hot. Dave
  19. Sorry for your loss A-Jay. We never look at our dogs as pets. We consider them family members. They really are man's best friend. Dave
  20. I agree with what has already been said here. Arkie head is more versatile in my opinion. Dave
  21. Welcome to the forums. Dave
  22. I agree with Stlbob, minnow baits is what I always called them, and still do. When I use the term jerkbaits, I'm talking about suspending jerkbaits like Pointers etc. Dave
  23. Yes, Ive caught bass on them in lakes that didn't have crawfish in them. I use them as a jig trailer for swim jigs, skirted jigs and non skirted jigs like the Title Shot jig. I also Texas rig them. You can drag them slowly along the bottom or hop them or swim them. Like has already been mentioned, you almost can't fish them wrong. Great bait, they are some of my favorite soft plastics. Dave
