  1. No inspections. Just don't bring us any zebra mussels!
  2. QUANTUM HOT SAUCE!!! SPICEY!!!
  3. Fenwick Elite Tech flippin stick is what all other flippin sticks are compared against, IMO.
  4. Been using eBay since 96... never had a bad experience with a high-rated seller.
  5. Time and place for everything, right?! I almost always have a shakey tied on. If i'm going to be fishing steeper structure or clearer water, spinning setup gets the nod. But being an Okie, more often than not, I'm fishing shallow rocky areas in stained water, and for that, my 7' MHF with 15# flouro takes the cake.
  6. Hard to beat a nice day in a canoe - congrats! Old Town kayak owner here and can vouch for the value.
  7. This is how we suck you in! Only place with solid answers to obscure questions. Welcome!
  8. Just bought my second 168 the other day. Love it, and hoping to get some fat pre-spawners on it. FYI, you can get them shipped on eBay for $16.99 - not bad.
  9. I learned that, despite my eagerness for Spring, the water is still COLD! Source: covertly swam brush piles into the neighborhood pond last night and froze my *** off!
  10. Most folks t-rig them and fish them over grass - when fished weightless, they can be buzzed along the top of the water. That being said, you can fish them anyway the heck you want! Other ideas would be to pitch them T-rigged (with a weight) around heavy cover, punch them into salad, or fish them on a shaky head.
  11. I've owned a couple "two man" boats in my day, and they can be pretty fun, and I've caught a lot of fish out of them. The Sun Dolphin 120 is bigger than the plain 'ol bass buggies I've had... but you can usually find a bass buggy (with trolling motor and battery) for under $500 on Craigslist. If you were to buy a Sun Dolphin 120 new, after trolling motor, sonar, battery, other accessories, you'll be pushing $2k. For the same amount or less, you could get a REALLY nice kayak, or an aluminum jon boat. I think it would be fun to do a bass boat conversion on a jon boat. There are pros and cons to each. Are YOU the young adult?
  12. Cool stuff! PS, nothing wrong with a cheap Yak. I have the Old Town Angler 10 and love, love, LOVE it. Easy to maneuver and pretty comfy for fishing trips, and roomy enough I can put my two little girls up front and go for a paddle.
  13. Looks like home! Water like that takes a lot of the guesswork out of fishing. You know exactly where the fish are gonna be - shallow, and in cover! With all that greenery along the bank, i'd be paralleling the bank with buzzbait. Better believe they are hanging out in those stickups too! Pitch ya something in them. Other good recommendations above. Don't let chocolate milk discourage you from fishing. Bass are incredibly adaptable. A major change in water color/level/temp might throw them outta whack for a day or two, but they'll get hungry before too long.
  14. Oooof. Sorry scaleface. Hope everyone gets well, and you can get caught up on your fishing and THEN your work.
  15. +1 for Brush Hog. Baitmonkey convinced me to buy the new Keitech Crazy Flapper last time I was on the Siebert Outdoors website. They look cool, but haven't used them yet.
  16. I know there are several rod manufacturers with purpose-built A-rig rods. I'm not a huge fan of the A-rig, so in the few instances I do toss one, I just use my frog setup. 7'6" HF with 65# braid. I have a 7:1 reel on my setup, but I would imagine most folks go with a lower gear ratio.
  17. Find wind-blown rocks and throw a 1/2oz spinnerbait!
  18. I thought this was a joke! I've never heard of regulating fishing seasons - had to Google it. Still don't understand the dates.
  19. Thanks for sharing! Very interesting study and results.
  20. I like where their head is at...
  21. Maybe so, but if you're fishing a hard bottom, you'll fray that braid pretty quick. If you're going to fish braid, use a mono or floro leader and check your braid often for signs of weakness. That being said, my vote is for 20lb floro for mainline all day, every day. Something not mentioned yet is leader length. This is pretty important and varies based on several conditions. Generally, the clearer the water, the longer the leader. I watched a video yesterday in which Mark Davis talked about using 7' leaders in clear water. Most guys throw in the 3' range, less during the spawn or in murky water.
  22. Most of these "brothers or buddies" I have don't have the patience to fish a wacky rig properly... especially weightless. I almost always hand them a spinnerbait. Spinners always catch fish (especially in Oklahoma dirty water), you can't fish them wrong, and they are relatively snag proof. Runner-ups would be a squarebill, lipless crank (if less to snag on), or texas rig. If they aren't good with a baitcaster, it's hard to top a small swimbait (put it on an underspin for extra flash) or inline spinner.
