  1. Siebert Outdoors. His Brush style heads are my favorite jig heads to fish. He has a lot of options for heads though. The brush style just happens to be my favorite and excels in most conditions.
  2. Yeah it was forecasted to get down to -8 to -10. When I started my truck this morning it was still at -10. Gonna get up to 11 today though so we’re making a nice recovery lol
  3. Dropped down to -10 last night in my area. Space heater has been working overtime.
  4. I have no words, but you will be in my thoughts.
  5. Found my numbers from 2023. That year I made “big” bass anything over 19”. In 2023, 1 out of every 6.67 bass were over 19”, and 1 out of 12.1 bass were over 20”. Didn’t keep track for 2024 but it’s probably a little lower than that.
  6. My cut off is the same as yours. 4lb and up are the big bass around here. I thin a similar thread was posted last winter, and for me that season I had a 10:1 big fish to overall fish ratio. Gonna try to find that thread.
  7. @Swamp Girl no ma’am! Not for this born and raised yank.
  8. Got about 6” of snow before the temps plunged to zero degrees. Supposed to get up to double digits for the high today at least.
  9. I fish a couple urban lakes where if I started picking up trash I would never have time to launch my boat. I’ll always pick up fishing line and worm containers when I see them though. Most of my fishing is up in the mountains and when I see trash at the launches at these lakes I pick it up. These mountains are some of the most beautiful scenery in the world and a ton of resources go into protecting them and keeping them pristine, so I like to do my part. Litter saddens me and so do the losers who perpetrate it.
  10. Less than 4 weeks until pitchers and catchers report to spring training!
  11. Siebert Outdoors Morel Heads are my favorite.
  12. Because my boat is under 16’ I pay $22.50 in New York State.
  13. I’ve ordered rods from Amazon, and had some arrive broken, but that isn’t any different than TackleWarehouse. TackleWarehouse has a 60% broken rod rate when shipping to me, and twice they’ve sent me the wrong one. I think Amazon’s record with shipping rods to me is better than TW’s. Won’t stop me from ordering from either place. Any reels I’ve ordered from Amazon have come perfect, and cheaper than where I could find them elsewhere.
  14. Big ones that get away haunt me. I always think “what if that was a new PB”.
  15. Bass Pro Shop being built in my town. Set to be done by summer!
  16. When these came out they instantly became my number one T-rigging bait. Favorite soft plastic by a long shot.
  17. Loved fishing, hated being stuck on the bank. Somebody local was selling a little boat and motor and I already had a truck so it was an easy decision.
  18. So whatcha whatcha whatcha want?? Love the Beastie Boys. Gonna jam out to them today for sure now. Thanks for the inspo 👍
  19. I don’t always have time to get the boat out, so I still walk the bank sometimes if I want to fish but don’t have much time.
  20. I might throw a line with a crankbait over the side while I’m changing spots, but that’s about all the trolling I do for bass.
  21. Another vote for Dad. Having my dad as a tournament partner sounds like a dream come true, even if he never touched a fishing rod in his life. I know you say your number one priority is winning, but years down the road which memories would be better? For me it’s an easy choice.
  22. I got my first and current boat about 12 years ago. Was in my early twenties, obsessed with fishing, but so tired of being stuck on the bank. Somebody local was selling a little boat and trolling motor for like $400 bucks, and I had the truck to haul it, so I jumped on that immediately. One of my best decisions I’ve made.
  23. I lean more towards the patient side. If it’s a spot I’m confident in, I’ll spend a lot of time there. If I’m on a new lake or trying to locate new spots, that’s when I will keep it moving. But if I’m on a familiar lake, in a spot im confident in, I’ll spend probably more time than I should until it produces.
  24. This is actually the 10th largest pyramid in the world. True story.
  25. Ice fisherman fell through the ice on his ATV yesterday and passed away about 40 minutes north of me. Very surprised the ice wasn’t thick enough given this winter has been absolutely frigid and this lake is higher in latitude and altitude than where I am. It is a very large lake though. I’ve been seeing a lot of shanties and guys on the ice.
