Hey, thanks for the response. I'm actually not considering FFS. Just not interested at this point. I realize it's a huge advantage, can teach you a lot about fish habits, and make you more successful. It's just a little too much technology at this point. Maybe I'll get off my high horse someday. Specifically, I was looking at the Terrova Quest MSI 90/115. I guess my question more pertains to upgrades in motor technology or wireless connectivity, things like that. I would pair it with a couple Helix series Mega SI units.

I'll be getting a new boat this spring and I am looking to purchase a trolling motor and electronics. Minn Kota currently has some pretty good discounts. My question is, does anyone have any information on new product releases that will be coming out anytime soon? Getting these at a good price is great, but I'd rather wait a few months and get newer technology if it will be available. Thanks.

It will have a clamps so that I can remove it when trailering, but yes, otherwise permanent.

I probably should've prefaced this question with some more information. The intention for two motors isn't for speed, which I already understand will be providing little to no additional speed. My big fishing boat is 22 feet and I have tested the Ulterra and it pushes at 3 mph at 100%. I know the 20ft Jon is a big boat to attempt this with and I would go with a smaller aluminum boat, but I already have this vessel. I need additional thrust to push the weight and mosey along at a reasonable pace and not run the motor at 100% all the time. The amp draw on the batteries will be much lower if I can run both motors at 50 to 75%. It will also be a back up motor in case my bow mount fails. I will try to pick my days wisely, but if it gets windy and wavy, I will also need additional thrust. I already have the 36V lithium's and I've calculated the runtime. I don't plan on going very far in this rig and will have ample energy. Here is a link to the motor I'm considering mounting on the transom. I understand I won’t get more speed, just thrust to carry more weight. My issue is the set up does not have a tiller. It is just a motor with a shaft and the wires running out. There is no head or control board.

There is a local “electric only” lake that I am going to start fishing. It’s a wide open reservoir, around 5000k acres. I have a 20ft aluminum jon(my duck hunting boat) I’ll fish out of. I’m going to borrow the 112 Ulterra from my big boat and mount it on the bow of the jon. I want a second motor for extra thrust. Trying to custom build this so I can avoid spending three grand on a new trolling motor. I found Minn Kota replacement motors online. I would like to mount one on the stern as a thruster. I’ll use the Ulterra to steer. I can get a 112 motor with shaft to mount on the transom. For you Minn Kota experts, is this doable? What would I need to get to turn the motor on/off and adjust the speed? There is an option for older models and newer Bluetooth models. Would the older legacy models would be the way to go for simplicity? Side note: to keep it lighter weight I’ll be running lithium batteries.

I just ordered some swing heads for the first time and will be using them next week. I have a few creature style baits selected to try out. The fishery I will be on as a ton of 6 inch bait fish. Seems like an odd application, but I was just curious if anyone has ever run a paddle tail on a swing head. Just thought it might match the hatch and offer a unique presentation.

I appreciate the reply, but I finally found informationon the Minnkota website. This particular remote is not Bluetooth. Per their website: The Legacy and Bluetooth i-Pilot and i-Pilot Link Micro remotes look identical. The best way to tell the difference is to look for the Bluetooth symbol on the remote back above the battery door. The Legacy i-Pilot and i-Pilot Link Micro Remote will not have the Bluetooth symbol.

I’ve always carried this remote as a back up. I recently tried to pair it with my Ulterra IPilot Link Bluetooth trolling motor. I couldn’t get it to pair. Is this an older micro remote that does not have Bluetooth? I can’t find any information identifying which model it is.

Does anybody know if this color was discontinued? Looking to replenish my stock and can’t find it anywhere. I’m assuming this is the case.

I’ve never fished a flutter spoon, for smallmouth or otherwise, but I’m thinking about trying it in a highland reservoir that is heavily populated with Kokanee. I found a few articles detailing guys fishing this way. Just thought I would see if others might share their experience, areas they targeted, and setup they used. I have a 7’1” mh fast with 15 pound fluorocarbon that I was thinking about casting it with. The Kokanee in the reservoir are around 7 inches, so I was going to pick up a handful of spoons about that size or a little bigger. There’s been multiple times running down the reservoir I’ll see Kokanee jumping out of the water. I’ve never considered it before, but I’m guessing that there are possibly bass suspended by the bait balls and are feeding on them. It’s usually in very deep water, pretty far from the bank. And I thought, if nothing else, it’ll just fun to explore a new technique. Thanks

I posted it in another thread that I am going on a long road trip. I have a bow mounted Minnkota Ulterra on a quick release bracket. What is the preferred method to secure it to the boat? I’ve seen a few different brands of locks that are manufactured for this specific purpose. Is this the best option? Any other recommendations? Thank you.
