  1. I own a Z519 and love it. I bought it because it is the size boat I like. I fish smaller lakes and it has a great hole shot and I think is easier to move in and out small coves. The Z520's will get you a better resale down the road but I bought this boat of me to keep. If your going to pay that kind of money and your going to finance then get the boat you want. If not then your going to be looking at boats in a few years. So my advice is buy a new boat the way you want it. Then your not buying boat after boat and never really happy with any of them. Also max the motor and trolling motor. Going cheap on those makes it a boat you don't want either.
  2. For me in a tournament I bring lots of water and two P&J's sandwiches. Before I go I'll have a bowl of cereal and coffee.
  3. I'm 56 and have learned it's just as easy to hire it out. I figure I go to work and do what I do best and let them work at the house and do what they do best. It's a wash. Plus they bring in a team and have it done in half the time. I will say when you move hire a mover. Your back will thank you for it. Enjoy your new home.
  4. If anyone would have them it would be Boca. But I've never heard of them before. I buy my ceramic bearings for the inside of my reels there and I think those are the bearings that will do you the most good.
  5. What I see in newbies more then anything is what I'm seeing here. Your giving it to much thought. You've done your practice now just go do it. And like one mentioned use your mirrors. If you don't one day you'll have to and you'll be a newbie all over again. I would go to a ramp that wasn't very busy and back it in and out a couple of times. It is easy and once you get the hang of it you'll wonder way you worried about it.
  6. Dip a bush in straight Round Up not mixed and paint two leafs of the poison ivy. It will kill the whole plant clear down to the roots. I've done this when ivy grows in my bushes and it kills the ivy and not the bush.
  7. I make 90 percent of what I fish but I will buy these jigs http://www.actlures.com. I like how he makes them. Each jig is hand tied to keep the skirt on where it belongs. He does a first rate job and I think he's to cheap for what he makes.
  8. I live five minutes from Clearfork and fish it all the time. My buddy and I fish TBX and will be at Delaware that day. It will take 18 to 20 pounds to win at Clearfork in July. Just so you know the weight your looking for.
  9. I'm not claiming to be any kind of pro here just stating there is advantages to both. Ask any pro to fish a day with your Garrett and I bet they bring both set ups. Must be a reason for it.
  10. A trick worm and a say 3/8 oz jig is not the same bait. The question was what is the advantage of a bait caster. Pitching a 3/8 oz jig with a spinning reel no matter what the size is not going to be as easy or accurate as using a bait caster. Same as skipping under a dock. The spinning reel has an advantage. Each have there advantages.
  11. I live north of Columbus in Mansfield. Fish all the lakes up here. The last couple of years I get a day off in the middle of the week so I can get away from the crowds. Makes it more enjoyable.
  12. I think it's sad that for the most part the news only reports the bad in this country. Your always going to have bad things happen no matter what you do. Reporting events like this only gives the gun man a name and ideas to others like him. Maybe if they just reported good things that happen it would give somebody an idea. One thing my wife and I like to do is travel. And we have done some traveling and not just in this country but many others. There's a ton of nice people out there that will take their shirts off their backs to help you. I try to stay focused on them. As far as SC I have been there several times and have nothing but good to say about the people that live there. This bad event is not going to change my mind any.
  13. I've seen three dogs poisoned and one dog shot in the last few years. Good luck with your home remedies.
  14. Just saying countless of times I have handed over video to the police and nothing came from it. Only a good IP camera will pickup a plate at a stopped position or very slow head on view. A standard anolog camera will white out on a license plate. Also remember there are no front plates in many states. And many times they wear a mask. Lot's of noise and help coming doesn't give them the time to find what they want. Never leave easy to steel items like jewelry boxes, guns and laptops out in the open. Make them take the time they don't have to find them. It is proven that homes with alarm system the break in last less then five minutes. The homes without last a half an hour or sometimes more. They will steel the DVR if they see cameras. And yes I have seen many times where the master bedroom window is broke into and they go out the same window. Because alarms are being more common they are afraid to open the doors.
  15. If your in search for big smallmouth then you need to go to the great lakes. Google top 10 spots for smallmouth bass and Lake Michigan, Lake Eire and Lake Huron are always in there several times. I have fished Lake Erie in PA. and it is stupid full of smallmouth in the 5 plus range. And Lake Michigan over around Green Bay they don't even take pictures of 4 pounders. The only problem with those lakes is the weather. You could travel a long ways and never get out.
