  1. This is illegal for tournament trails correct? 2 years ago two teams fished 40lb bags back to back weeks, from the same large fishery but it has not been done since.... Just wondering for personal knowledge
  2. I meant to type that in my first reply, 8 is am is when it starts getting a lil crowded. This weekend being a holiday weekend it is going to be horrible by noon on all 3 days. Be careful and good luck, it is a great lake!
  3. Shipyard, where are you fishing around here?
  4. Best advice I have read so far. Do not limit yourself to a specific style of bait, try many, one type bait may get them moving around and then they will try to eat the next bait. Pond fishing is awesome but can also be tough. Good luck and have fun
  5. Jordan is a great fishery. My personal favorite spots are on the south east side of the lake, I beat the crowds on that side. I put in at Poes Ridge boat ramp. I personally stay on that southern half of the lake away from all of the main boating areas. It does get hectic and rough just from the casual boaters and jet skis running around the lake.
  6. I have both, I use my kayak 10x as much as my boat. BOATs are maintenance warriors while my yak just needs a spray with the washer or hose when done. I can also get into really really tight places with that yak, some places I would be scared to wade in because of the depth of the mud and debris. I had a sun dolphin 10' sit in yak that I made into a nice little fishing rig, but I sold it to my son in law and have been looking at the ascend 128fst or what ever the model number is. If I could find another yak in that price range that has a seat and room like the Ascend I would be interested in looking at it. If anyone can help me find one with a max price less than 1000 with paddle, I would greatly appreciate the help. I am looking for a sit on this time, I dumped mine in some cold water year before last and I still get cold spells thinking about it.
  7. That is the very best piece of advice I have read throughout this thread. Very well put and that is what your BIL intended.
  8. Ok, I may love my state. Anyways, I am located in a small town near Fort Bragg/Fayetteville NC. I love it here and have just started fishing less than a year ago. I fell in love and my wife lets me so I can chillax. It really helps me with my "wartime" issues and calms me down so much. Anyway, one of my goals is to fish a nice lake in GA and am already planning for Ocochobee (sp) sometime in the next 12 months. I have fished some smaller locations around Hattiesburg MS in late oct through late december. I really love to fish but need to slow down with my bass rod/reel spending addiction. I hope to meet some of you and appreciate any questions you guys help me with in advance.
  9. My first post will be welcoming you to the site. I will make my introduction next...
