  1. Or the pflueger president of course.
  2. I've heard a lot of good things about the Jackson "wretched" series. The tackle trap carries them so I'd give Gary a call. The Long Bait Finesse rod looks promising.
  3. OMG bro, I'm so sorry. Hang in there.
  4. I use 15lb braid with 7lb sniper as a leader. Sniper has been good enough to me.
  5. The pflueger trion is a pretty darn good reel for the money. It came with an extra spool when I got mine and it's as smooth as the day I bought it.
  6. If you get a steez, then get the 100. The 103 is a bit wild and requires more casting skills. If I was looking to buy my first bc, it wouldn't be a finesse reel. I'd opt for something more versatile especially since you're throwing 1/2 oz lures. I'd take a look at the metanium hg/xg or alphas sv. I'd buy from a japanese site like japan lure shop because they're cheaper and shipping is unbelievably fast. The alphas sv is one of the easiest casters I have and outcasts just about every reel I own.
  7. It sounds like your tip guide broke and not your rod tip. I'll bet you'd have to pay for shipping to duckett for a warranty repair. I would contact them to send you a tip and you could do the repair. It is easy to do. Since it's a micro I would want the correct one from duckett.
  8. Are you talking about flathead or channel cat? I think you'll be fine. I've caught my fair share of cats with my gear. I had one heck of a battle with a 25lb flat head once on a medium power rod pflueger president spinning reel. I also boated a 3 1/2' hammer head shark last month on a 7' medium gander mt rod and 40 size pflueger arbor reel. It took me 20 minutes and was the funnest fight I've ever had.
  9. I have the avail spool in my 51e on a klx finesse jig/worm rod. I throw 1/8 oz jigheads and 3" grubs on it. I also use it on a loomis imx cr 721. Both rods handle the bait well. I was intrigued in finesse fishing for a while, but quickly discovered that I don't use it nearly as much as I thought so I can't justify spending big bucks. I'm happy with what I have for now.
  10. Contact duckett to get a replacement tip and then do it yourself. Thankfully it's the tip guide and not one of the others because the tip is an easy fix.
  11. The bushings I've replaced were in a T3 ballistic. I replaced the drive shaft and worm gear bushings. I don't know if the worm gear bearing made any difference, but the drive shaft bearing made a big difference. I personally can't tell the difference between 2 bearings vs 1 bearing/bushing in knobs.
  12. If you ever want to do maintenance and upgrades to your own reels you need to get a tool to remove spool pins. I use the hedge hogs tool.
  13. For me, palming serves 2 functions: balance and keeping my index finger under the line to feel bites.
  14. Shimano 50 series reels are versatile enough to do just about anything.
