  1. I haven't used the Megabass rods, but I've got the 6'10" LTB Drop Shot rod and I LOVE that rod! Perfect for drop shotting but can also be used for other finesse techniques as well. It's a great rod for light jerk baits as well as light crankbaits too. The rod is light, sensitive, comfortable, and versatile. Like I said, I don't have experience with the Megabass rods but I know you wouldn't be disappointed with a LTB.
  2. Nice work! Congrats on your success and most likely the start of a new addiction.
  3. This guy sounds like joke of a mechanic. I don't care what type of dealership he works for, he should be able to fix it. If he's too ignorant to know that you can run them premixed and take the oil injection off , then how does he know enough to know when there's a problem with the VRO? I'd ask for a big time discount especially since he didn't actually fix the problem you took it in for. I'd also never go back there again and let your buddies know to not go there either.
  4. For $250 I'd jump on it as long as you know it works.
  5. I'll probably end up with one or two of them.
  6. If you believe in what you have, then there's no reason to change. However, remember there are other anglers out there who like to experiment and try something different that works better, or works better for them. If they find something, they then believe in it and are in the same boat as you. Honestly, you could go out and catch fish with a cane pole and a pill box full of tackle and if that's your thing, more power to ya! If you want to spend over a thousand dollars on 1 rod and reel combo go for it! (and toss me a few bucks on the side since we know you can afford it haha) It's fishing and that's what makes it so great. You can make it what you want and however you do it, it's not wrong.
  7. 4/0 Trokar EWG unweighted
  8. I would be guessing you weight is gone.
  9. I've had it spooled up since this spring in the 6 lb test. It pretty much does what is says. It's a lot softer and more supple and handles very similar to a mono. It does have slightly more stretch than the regular 100% fluoro, but much much less than mono. I will definitely be purchasing more. I'll probably be doing a full video review somewhere in the near future and I'll post it here when I do.
  10. I don't throw them much but my bet would be to throw them on a crankbait rod for best results.
  11. St. Croix Legend Tournament Bass get the 7'1" MH/F or the Legend Xtreme 7' MH/F. You'll be very pleased!
  12. I'd go with something in the 7's. I fish spinnerbaits a lot and throw them on a 7.1:1 and haven't had any issues with drag from the bait.
  13. I've only tried one camo colored line and it was Spider Wire. Definitely not doing that again. The problem with it is the base line color is that of the lightest color and the other colors wore off very quickly so you were left with the least desirable color in the water. You can color it with a sharpie, but I'd just as soon do that with my normal pick of dark green.
  14. I highly doubt that there are many that will. The 115 is a V4 and the 150 is a V6. Between that and the considerable year gap between the two, I kind of doubt much would swap. If the newer one was a 140 there would be some that you could swap out.
  15. Doesn't effect bass. Lay a bass on its back in the water and it will either right itself calmly ans swim away, or freak out jumping back up or splashing wildly as it writes itself.
  16. Nice work! Hope you guys catch tons!
  17. Avoid anything that has a Force motor on it or a Mercury "Power Series" motor. Boat wise though you should have some solid choices at that price. One known issue with with some of the smaller Nitro's from the 90's and into the early 2000's is they'll tun down the lake with an odd tilt to them. When it comes to a boat, so much of the value is based on condition. It's pretty evident usually after looking at a boat to see if it's been cared for or not.
  18. Take it back off and put silicone in and around the holes before you put the screws in. You should be good to go after that.
  19. I think the Mojo is a pretty decent rod. I've got a few and I like them. Not super sensitive, but sensitive enough to get the job done.
  20. I'd say go with something in the 7.1:1 range.
  21. If yours are too fast for him, why not just adjust them so he can use them? Otherwise the Johnny Morris BPS reels would make a great starter reel.
  22. I've prefished up until the day before. Although I don't recommend it, if you have no other option I wouldn't be against it.
  23. Make sure you're twitching your rod tip in a downward motion as well as making sure the bait gets slack after each twitch to allow the bait to turn. Pad Crashers are just about the easiest walking hollow bodied frog I've found. Another thing you might want to check, is that both legs come out inside the two hooks.
