  1. That combo will work. Choose the rod power based on the blank's weight rating and the weight of baits you use most frequently. St. Croix's power ratings are usually a little under many other brands so a medium power from them will have a bit more power than the average medium power rod.
  2. If you get a backlash be sure you're holding on tight. Braid digs into itself so in most instances it won't fluff way up like mono or fluoro, it digs and your spool stops. Other than that it's a pretty trouble free line.
  3. Get your tach fixed. You can't reliably tell anything unless you have a working tach. Other than that, are you sure the motor is trimming up all the way? What type of prop do you have? Aluminum or Stainless?
  4. For scent preservation, you'll probably have to get some of the waterproof Plano boxes. Otherwise you can use any tackle tray and just add scent before you use them.
  5. Chunkin' N Windin' (Jimmy Houston's theme song) or Gone Fishin' (Hank Parker's)
  6. I don't use O rings. I do use Eco Pro Tungsten Pro Wacky Weights though. They keep the hook in a vertical position, and help you get a few more fish out of each worm. They really shine when trying to get your bait down a little quicker in deeper water as well with the heavier weights. I usually use the 1/32 oz ones all the time though and absolutely love them.
  7. In the owners manual (http://www.motorguide.com/userfiles/file/Support/OwnersManuals/2011%20Tour%20Manual.pdf) on page 11 it mentions installing it within 72" of the battery on the positive lead. If you boat already has a circuit breaker then you can skip this step. On pages 13-16 it shows it placed in the wiring diagram.
  8. I think the rating process has a few factors that go into it. I'm not sure what's all entailed with it though. Being that the 90 and 115 are usually built on the same block there's structural integrity will be ample enough for either. Your only drawback of over rating it would be trying to get insurance on it (if you keep insurance on it) or if you fish in tournaments. 2 stroke vs. 4 stroke is still a debate. 4 strokes are quieter and cleaner burning, but 2 strokes are lighter and getting pretty clean burning too.
  9. Once he signs the title, it releases it from his name. You take the title in to the DMV or DNR (whoever handles boat registration in your state) and then register it as you would any other boat you would have bought.
  10. x2 on the medium to medium light spinning combo
  11. I hold mine with 2 fingers in front of the reel stem.
  12. If you want to keep using Elaztech I'm pretty sure Kick'n Bass won't dissolve it and it's a great scent!
  13. I'm new to the higher end sunglass market, I've always just had the cheap ones. This winter though I found a pair of Costa's with the 580G lenses at a reasonable price, so I pulled the trigger. Wow, am I ever glad I did! Like I said, I haven't worn other high end sunglasses before, so I can't say how they compare. I can say they are amazing though and worth every penny I paid for them.
  14. Great, now you guys have got me jacked to put my shadow rap to work....now I've got to wait until this weekend to do that haha
  15. I use their Cane Thumpers, Fightin Frogs, Trick Sticks, as well as a few others. I really love love Cane Thumpers and Fightin' Frogs. I've used the Wacky Sticks with the o-ring in the middle and they work pretty well. Big Bite also produces baits for various different companies. Gander Mountain is one of those stores as they produce the house brand. If you haven't used them, you should check them out.
  16. I have the older version of the Bass Pro Extreme Qualifier 370 bag. It worked really well for me, and still does a good job when I travel to fish out of someone else's boat.
  17. The St. Croix Avids and AvidX's are a great rod for the money.
  18. That really boils down to personal preference. For some it's easier to focus on slowing down with a faster reel and for others it's easier to slow down. Personally I don't have much of an issue slowing down so I use almost all 7.1:1 ratio reels.
  19. Congrats man that's awesome!
  20. You might want to try a bigger hook and/or setting the hook harder.
  21. I don't know that I really have a favorite since I've done well on most of the jerkbatis I've got. I do really like the Live Target Smelt jerkbaits though.
  22. Well you made a great decision, the Tour Edition is a great motor. Not to mention it is a beast!
  23. I've used the Revo S and Revo Premier. They're both great reels and although I've never used the a SX I think it's safe to say that it's a very solid performer and that you'd like it.
  24. The AvidX MH/F would be a great choice for jigs. I'd probably go with flouro line on it, but then again I'm a fan of it. If you like braid better then go with that. You can always tie a leader on if you are worried about the fish being line shy.
  25. I've got two Mojo's and love them both. St. Croix power ratings seem to be a little on the low side compared to a lot of companies, so a medium power rod would fish closer to a medium heavy in other brands. I don't think you can go wrong either way, but if I were picking I'd go Mojo.
