  1. 12# Berkley 100% Fluoro would be my choice.
  2. Of the two I have, it's a toss up between the LTB 6'10" ML/XF and LTB 6'8" M/XF both paired with Abu Garcia Revo Premiers in the 30 size.
  3. 42"-45" is going to be what you're looking for.
  4. I've had a lot of luck on spinnerbaits, small swim baits, lipless crankbaits, and square bills as well.
  5. I've got a new one this year a 7'1" MH/F St. Croix LTB and my old one is a 7'6" H/F Quantum Tour PT.
  6. I'll throw a trailer on a spinnerbait if I'm looking to bulk up my presentation. The trailers I'll throw on it are usually a grub, a split tail trailer, and sometimes a small swimbait. I'll put a trailer hook on any time I'm getting short strikes.
  7. I used to love them growing up. Their castability is great and really helps for those that roll cast a lot. I've since went away from them though as you get so much more leverage with a slightly longer handle.
  8. Depending on which way the wind is blowing bago is going to be that way too. If those are the two places you fish the most, a deeper v is going to be the way to go.
  9. Thanks guys, we had a blast. Our neighbor was down there a few days before and caught a few over 40"! That one was our biggest of the day and it was in the upper 20's.
  10. My personal favorite are still the Terminator T-1's. If I had to pick just one blade combination for bass, it'd be a Colorado/Oklahoma tandem. My favorite size are the 3/8 oz. The Oklahoma blade spinnerbaits are getting harder to find, but they have been my #1 producing spinnerbait for years.
  11. These past two weekends I've finally gotten the chance to get out on the water and after sitting out for the stupid time of the year most commonly refereed to as winter, it felt great! We didn't catch much the first weekend, but this last weekend we got into them pretty good. I'm just hoping this week long cold front isn't going to turn them back off again for the tourney next weekend.
  12. The primer bulb and fuel line to the motor wouldn't be covered under warranty because they are not part of the motor. That would be like expecting a company that makes trolling motors to warranty the wires run in a boat from the batteries to the plug. If something goes wrong with the wires in the boat that's on you or the boat's warranty.
  13. I'd say shorten up your leader, or just switch to straight braid or fluoro. If that's how I was setting things up, I'd run my leader short enough that it's outside the guides from the start of the pitch. That should still allow you enough line to fish a full day without having to put on a new leader. If you're not getting all the fluoro off the rod, what's the point of having the braid?
  14. Maybe he's just built a little like a T-rex.....little arms.
  15. There seem to be a few women in the WI Bass Nation tourney the last few years. I was surprised one was actually a boater last year!
  16. Length is a personal preference. Personally I like the shorter rods under 7' but I know some wouldn't consider throwing anything under 7'. You're going to gain accuracy with a shorter rod, and you'll gain some distance with a longer rod. The other thing to think about is what you'll be fishing out of with it. In a smaller boat you might want to consider a shorter one as well. I know one of my friends likes longer rods and doesn't pay much attention other than to what he's doing and I find myself standing as far towards his back deck as possible because if I didn't I'd have some hooks buried in me. I'd suggest going to the tackle shop and handling a few to see which you feel more comfortable with.
  17. I use 50 lb Berkley Professional Braid or 50 lb Power Pro.
  18. I second what gulfcaptain said. It can make for a rougher outing but it's not always true. For me, it's not going to matter what direction the wind is coming from, I'm going.
  19. I've had a few suspending models, and have yet to have an issue with them.
  20. One time I had a loon chase after a worm that I was reeling in from the weed edge. The dang thing looked like a little submarine on a mission. I burnt that bait in as fast as I could and it was still gaining. Luckily I got it out of the water just in time and it dove right under the boat. Another time, completely on accident I plucked a sparrow out of mid-air on a cast. Luckily I didn't hook it and he recovered just before he hit the water. Unfortunately, it left me with a pretty good backlash. Also, hooked a 30-40 lb turtle on a frog right where I missed a big smallie just minutes before. That was quite the interesting ordeal. Luckily the hook popped out after I got pics of him boat side.
  21. They're at their best any time the water is wet.
  22. I used to wear the $10 Berkley ones at Walmart. They were pretty decent for the price. Also the I-gogs Fish Eyes were decent for $25 or $30.
  23. You could probably get by with those sizes. Like MickD said though, there will probably be those times you wish you had another size.
