  1. The Dual Pro's won't overcharge your battery. Plug them in and you'll be good!
  2. Mine has a small bend in it. Nowhere near as drastic as what it sounds like you're describing. They can get it fixed though. If they can't get it straight without breaking it, they can just cut it off and weld on a new one.
  3. Rapala DT 10's and 14's are good as well as Bommer Fat Free Shad. Also, if you're fishing in that depth range invest in a lure retriever. I suggest the telescopic kind as they pay for themselves the first few uses. The one I have extends to 24' I believe and I've lost very few baits due to hangups since I got one.
  4. If you want to stick with the Avid line you'd want the 7' H/F. You could possibly get away with a MH/F depending on cover, but I think it's better to have a little beefier rod because it still does just fine in the lighter cover, and when it gets heavy you are still good to go.
  5. I'm not overly confident in them. I hear people rave about them all the time, and I have caught fish on them no doubt, but I've never had the incredible success that some people claim to have on them.
  6. I really like my St.Croix Mojo Frog & Slop rod. Tons of power and will launch a frog. If you're looking for one for next year, they've redesigned them using the SCIII blanks instead of SCII so they should be a little lighter and more sensitive.
  7. Since you already have 2, I'd probably look to add a really nice one. Even though you could search around and find a deal on used and possibly get two nice ones.
  8. I was going to say 4 lbs before I read your weight. Congrats on the new PB though!
  9. bluebasser is right. Normally when these pins are not locked in, centrifugal force from the spool spinning forces them out and against the brake ring to cause friction and slow the spool. If there are no pins there, there's nothing to cause friction.
  10. Just go grab a St. Croix Legend Xtreme and be happy!
  11. I only back mine off in the winter when the season is over. Otherwise they stay set where I want them.
  12. 6 years and it's already dropping power? I know I wouldn't be looking to buy another one of the same thing that's failing so soon.
  13. No doubt, I can understand you being particular to what you want. My response was directed a little more at comfortably numb who was saying he doesn't see any UL being able to get a hook into a bass.
  14. Smaller fish will still hit a swimbait, especially one that's not overly big such as your sick fish. Still counts though!
  15. I think we sometimes forget how easy it can be to set a small hook into a bass. In college I used to fish a small lake a few blocks from my rental house that had a pretty good population of undersized bass. I bought a 6' UL Quantum Tenton Trout rod and spooled it up with an ice fishing reel and some 6lb mono. I'd fish 4" rubber worms with a small weight and a small bullet weight. Despite it being pretty whippy, I never had an issue sticking a fish with a 1/0 ewg.
  16. Man, if this sucker is affordable like their line cutter, it should only run $600-700!! At that price I couldn't imagine not buying two so I can make two jumbo snot wads in front of my bait and really dupe those crafty bass. Plus I wouldn't have to learn the tricky art form of tying knots! It'll really come in handy since I know tying knots in any condition other than clear sunny skies and no wind will hamper my art forming ability! Besides, who doesn't want to catch bigger fish, just like they said in the video! I am totally sold on this! hahahaha
  17. Of all the reels I own and have owned, I've never lost a spool tension cap. All of them have side to side spool play long before the spool tension knob is loose enough it could fall off. If the spool has any side to side play, you tension is loose enough that it's in free spool.
  18. I would not be able to bring myself to do it. Even if I did buy one, I doubt I could convince myself to throw it. I don't know how long it'd last around here either. The pulling power of those baits would also pull the toothy critters of the region and before long I would be waiving goodbye to $250.
  19. Welcome to the forums!
  20. If you're going to be in Green Bay, I wouldn't worry too much about heading north. Green Bay, Sturgeon Bay has some of the best fishing in the country. The Winnebago chain seems to have a love hate relationship for some and can get pretty rough when it gets windy.
  21. That's awesome! Sounds kind of like the time I took a free throw and it bounced straight up off the back of the rim and bounced about 3-4 more times and it came to rest right on the flat spot on the back of the rim.
  22. Yeah, it's the ol' trap'em in the gap pattern! 0.00000000000001% of the time it works EVERY time haha.
  23. My girlfriends biggest northern was somewhat lassoed. It blew up on a frog and took it down head first, the line ran through the mouth and hooked around the jaw hinge where it extends past the joint. Both hooks were pulled up tight on the front of the mouth and keeping the line tight kept it locked on. Also, did it with a northern a few years ago. I was flipping a small grass mat and it hit the weight which wasn't pegged. Line went through the mouth and the hook had caught the line coming out the other side of the mouth and both sides had hooked around the jaw bone. Crazy stuff but this was definitely a new one!
  24. I don't consider them a nuisance fish unless they get on that tungsten bite or any other expensive bait bite haha. But seriously they're a blast to catch and delicious. The only time they seem like a bummer is when you're in the middle of a bass tourney.
