  1. I use bread all of the time but mostly for the bluegills, sunfish, crappie and Oscar. That was how my father introduced me to fishing 30+ years ago in Kendall and it's how I got my sons into it. If you hit a good spot you can pull out 15-20 1/2 lb to 2 1/2 lbs panfish in 15 to 20 minutes. The smaller the hook and pea size ball of bread, the better the chance of hooking them. Smash the barb on your hook so it comes out easier. My son did catch a 2 pound LM once with bread but I think that was just luck, he kept dropping it in and around a nest until it hit it.
  2. Looks like we have the making of a nice group in Weston. This guy in my picture and 3 others just like him were caught off the shore in my development (Savanna) in Weston. I've had no luck in the Meadows, although I only fished along the South end. Weston Road has a 3-4 lakes between Indian Trace and Royal Palm where I have had success with top water frogs, Zoom Super Flukes (Watermelon) and Zoom lizards. I try to use the smallest bullet weight 1/32 oz or smaller, just to get it to bounce/dive head 1st. Are any of you interested in the Channing Crowder Bass tournament at Holiday Park Friday the 31st?
  3. There is a celebrity BASS fishing tournament at Holiday park January 31. It's $100/person up to 3 /boat and is open to local anglers. I would love to take part in this tournament not just because I love to Bass fish, but also because 100% of proceeds go to Boys and Girls Club of Broward. My only problem, and it's a biggy, is I do not own a boat. I am willing to share fuel/supplies etc. if anyone needs a 2nd or 3rd for their boat.
